I agree. 4th of July seems like the biggest layup ever. I wonder why they aren't doing that?

Currently scheduled:

June 28, 2019 - Transformers 6

July 5, 2019 - Spider-Man: Homecoming 2

If Spider-Man wasn't already there, I'm sure TG2 would have claimed that weekend. Would have been perfect. A lot can happen between now and then, though, so it's still a possibility.

Minor story spoilers below, but as I hinted at a few months back, this at least confirms that Goose's son is one of the leads. I also know that Bruckheimer read the first draft of the script very recently, so some of this could and will still likely change...

Meh.Yet another money grab playing on people's nostalgia. Originality and creativity is severely lacking in Hollywood. If it's good enough for you, then by all means go support it. I'm perfectly fine with the old one.

Great interview with director Joe Kosinski, re: the movie, at the 29:20 mark. He's at least saying all the right things; not relying on nostalgia as a crutch, wants to shoot as much in-camera as humanly possible, working hand-in-hand with the Navy to make it as accurate as possible, etc. Some really good insight as to his approach...
