The writing for this show is slowly going downhill.

Actually, the writing the past two episodes has been MUCH better.

The writing the last two episodes have been some of the best in the series. Especially for the episode that aired on the 3rd ("Clear").

I actually like the writing recently, the touches are almost "artful".

The name on the bracelet, Morgan and all his writing on the wall and walker traps, the hitchhiker on the road, the taped (but unused, so far) gun under the table, etc. Even the cigarettes. Much improved. Adding humanity and depth to the characters, rather than just a linear telling of "first they did this, then that happened, so they did this, and then that other thing, but then X shows up and they all do B together."

Up until these episodes, everything was so blunt-force and (again) linear... no way in hell they would have shown that gun under the table and NOT used it last season.

I'm starting to wonder how so many zombies are "surviving" this long. Is there really enough flesh to eat to allow their cells to function? Those cells aren't repairing/replenishing themselves, right? Which implies that they're constantly decomposing in the Atlanta climate ...

First law of thermodynamics, the virulent nature of decomposing micro-organisms, etc ...

Please don't apply & science to a fictional concept of dead people arising from the dead as monsters. You either must accept certain irrational ideas or simply turn the channel.

That's kind of like asking how a vampire without a hearbeat can still become fully torqued and bang Anna Paquin.

What if in the end, Rick wakes up again in the hospital and Lori, Carl, and Shane are all there happy that he's come out of the coma. how pissed will you be if they pull an 80's Dallas and it's all a dream?

If you apply the Max Brook's explanation, zombies are caused by a virus that sustains the cells and the eating is just more of an evolutionary instinct hold over.

Obviously something is sustaining the flesh.

plus, some walkers may be "newer" than others, having been survivors of the original outbreak that later died and turned...

Because Max Brooks says so, beotch. (Not calling you a *****...for some reason it just felt like the sentences wanted that at the end.)

Loved the exploding head zombie kill with the bat by Sanchez Martinez.

Is it just me that thinks that a compound bow would be much faster to fire than a crossbow that you have to cock every time you fire?
Ol Jock 99
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Without question. Loading a crossbow is a PITA and takes time. Except post zombie apocalypse. Then they are quick and easy, like the infinitely shotgun (and NA's mom).
Lungblood
How long do you want to ignore this user?
neither a compound bow or compound crossbow would be very good long term, imo... mainly bc they require more specialized maintenance and repair than firearms.
johnmyu
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Speaking of specialized maintainence - Michonne's katana would need some work pretty regularly too. Things don't stay sharp forever and sharpening them correctly is a tremendous pain in the ass.
AgFB
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I feel like they have a ton of time to maintain weapons during the day. What else are they going to do besides take trips to the sex garage?
Morpholino
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Exactly. Firearms shouldn't have a spec of carbon either.
gigemags-99
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Firearms wise, nothing more reliable than a pump action shotgun and a good old fashioned wheel gun (I like to think that is why Rick still carries his).

I prefer the capacity of semi autos - and that's what I have today - but I can see the argument for at least having a revolver as your fail safe. Less moving parts = less to go wrong.

I guess not.

AMC isn't reairing the episode until Friday. So I still can read or comment about the episode.

Crazy that the possibility of Rick giving up Michonne hasn't been discussed. It'd be smart for Rick to inform Michonne that the Govenor wants her and he stages a handoff just to give her the opportunity to finish the job.

I feel like the Governor knows that Rick won't end up handing her off, yet wants him to battle himself over whether or not to do it.

I've been drinking a little so I may have to expand on this thought later.

Expect a cuppycup version of that gif w/n 6 months.

Had a friend say something interesting about the episode today. He suggested that the Gov and Rick may know each other from before the apocalypse. Specifically, that Rick's whole thing about the Gov being the town drunk was literal.

I don't think so, but I thought it was interesting.

That gif is hilarious.

Im surprised the "town drunk" dialogue didn't get more chatter but I'm fairly confident it was figurative.

A little off-topic, but...

I remember in the 1st or 2nd Episodes, when Rick was still saying "I'm sorry this happened to you" to Z's, there were a couple with really leathery skin that looked like the sun had taken them to task. I am wondering why that hasn't slowed done more Zombies.

Also, in WWZ, I didn't understand how so many zombies survived underwater in the ocean for so long as I was under the impression that lengthy submersion of flesh caused it to fall off. Could be wrong though.
SuperAg05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Its. A. Zombie. Show.

How is it that you can suspend the scientific part of your brain that asks how dead people can rise up, and why they would want to "eat" flesh...yet you can't just gloss over the fact that some have decayed more or less than others?
