I predict that the last scene was just a ploy for Merle to infiltrate the prison and betray them from inside...just like the Gov mentioned early in the episode (or last week).

I've never, ever seen a show adhere to the one-black-guy-only thing more than The Walking Dead. They don't even try to make it subtle. Literally one in, one out.
