I think it was the gun hitting the ground.

Honestly, if you go to Sci-fi forums and other places with geeks and zombie lovers, she is pretty well hated.

Seriously, her speeches were horrible. She gave her stupid "you have to let her choose to live speech to Laurie", nevermind it was Dale who kept her from killing herself.

She was perfectly summed up in the gif with her tied to the chair "zombie heads, sent Merle to have Michonne killed...he's got some explaining to do".

And in reading that interview, Kirkman comes off like a fool.

quote:
TVLINE | Why did she spend so much time staring at Zombie Milton instead of picking up those damn pliers?
[Laughs] You know, it was a struggle. A very tense situation. If you’ve never been strapped to a chair watching someone die before you I don’t know that you can really judge how someone behaved. [Laughs]

I would probably freak out as I tried to grab those pliers the second Milton mentioned he hid them there.

yep. I would also not stop my efforts to explain my failed plan to a person about to die and then turn into a flesh eating zombie hell bent on killing me.

I can appect zombies. I can accept the apocolypse. I can accept fuel that never degrades. I can accept the auto-aim being turned on and off. I can accept walkers coming out of nowhere in the forest. I can accept a single gunshot attracting a zombie horde.

I cannot accept someone sitting in a room with a person about to turn into a zombie and just having a conversation when you know you can willfully get out of the situation. Just doesn't fit. At least everything else can be explained away somehow.

No... and I never claimed it was. And that's not what I based it on.

But whenever you look around on other forums, articles, blogs, videos, etc. and just about all of the Andrea talk is how people dislike or hate her character, I'd say that's pretty representative. And just me personally, friends I talk with that watch have hated her. There are several groups of kids and some teachers at the high school my wife teaches at that she'll chat with about the show, and they've all hated her since the end of season one.

So, yeah, I think that's representative enough to know that it's not just a vocal minority that disliked her.

It doesn't fit, until you realize it's Stupid Andrea doing this. Then it makes perfect sense.

Can we all agree she was at least a decent piece? Maybe if she didnt talk? I mean, things are not looking good out there as far as potential hawts.

I think it should be noted that this episode was directed by the show runner who was shown the door this year?

Yup. I made this same point a bit earlier. We're down to Maggie and possibly the woman that survived the Guv's slaughter.

I think if this show was really being honest and accurate (and we've proven that it is not which is mostly a good thing), we'd definitely be seeing some female hording going on. Boys will be boys and after a month (shoot, after a week even) of a depressing zombie Apocalypse, dudes everywhere would be looking for anything half decent to start "rebuilding the population" with.

Wood-bury would be an appropriate name for what was really going on behind the walls... and it wouldn't be zombie girls that were chained up in the attic either!!!

Beth is the hottest of all of them. Maybe my demo skews younger or something.

Maggie has some Seasbiscuit genes in her.

I think she's 28 or 29 in real life
GeronimoAg

Yeah, she's 27 in real life. She just looks so much younger on the show.

I know we've talked about it before here, but have they said how old Beth is supposed to be?

She's supposed to be 17 but looks 12.

You're out of your GD mind. She's easily the hottest woman on this show and doesn't have even a hint of horseface. WOW.

I agree about the hording of girls thing. In general, I'd think the guy to girl ratio has to be pretty skewed by now. Men are stronger, faster, and less compassionate than women, so you'd figure they'd be more likely to survive.

I used to work at a summer camp with no women. Occasionally, someone's sister or mother would come visit. By the 3rd week or so, ugly girls that I wouldn't have considered touching with a 10-foot pole only weeks before would seem smoking hot. By week 5 or so, any time someone's ugly sister (who'd normally rate about a 2 on a 10-point scale) showed up, the guys would pounce on her like a pack of wild dogs. It's embarrassing & pathetic in hind site, but it was reality.

Other than the deer and horse in season 2, have there been any animals around at all?

Are we to assume they mostly got munched by walkers?
********************************

I really don't see how any fast animals would be caught by walkers........ they are slow and un-coordinated..... how would they ever catch a deer?
Mr. Guy
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That walker caught a rat in the sewers in season one (2nd episode I think). That must've been a site, a walker waddling around grunting after a rat, and the rat scurrying around like WTF this thing tryna eat me!

one thing that bothers be is they have all those zobmies milling around outside the fence. Why not draw them up and spike their heads like they do when someone is leaving?

Do that a few times a day and you don't have to scramble when someone needs to drive out and risk hitting one and busting up a car.

Just my .02 cents.

1. When the kid was handing over his gun, I do remember thinking why it was taking him so long to put it down. About the time I completed that thought Carl pulled the trigger.

2. Only explanation for Andrea taking so long to grab the plyers is because she's Andrea. Anyone else would have grabbed them and got the fuq out of there ASAP. I was also thinking why couldn't she just stab Milton in the head with the plyers?

3. I thought it was ridiculous that Allen (hopefully the right name) was so slow to react while holding a gun in the firing position that the governor was able to fully raise his arm and fire without Allen even reacting. It's not like the governor fired from the hip.

4. If I'm Martinez or the other guy, I shoot the gorvernor on the spot after his psycho moment. Made no sense to me why one of them didn't shoot him.

5. I loved the line "Kill or die, or die then kill." Someone else also made a really good point about Shane trying to say the same thing and Rick was clueless. Although Shane did eventually go overboard, I did agree with him that the group needed to be more aggressive towards other humans just asmuch as they were toward zombies.

i thought the finale was an 8 or so on a 1-10.

the show is always going to have plot holes and WTF moments. its a show about zombies for petes sake. my personal favorite WTF moment was Martinez watching the Governor spray down the residents. at that point its clear the Governor is completely unhinged and might turn his weapon on Martinez next but he just stands there and joins the Governor again.

other quick points:

-Governor will definitely be back. He might be the best villain on TV right now.
-Glad Andrea is gone, she was annoying since day one.
-I thought for sure when the Woodbury trucks drove off and Glenn came out and said "we won" he was going to get clipped from afar or something.
-While I love this show I'm not really lookin forward to next seasons storyline of constantly debating the morality of lookin after those geisers.
-Something tells me the next season opens up a year or 2 afterwards.

This is TampaBayAgs link from the previous page. 2 things. In the interview, Im led to believe the writers/producers dont know what theyre doing. Second, the comments indicate pretty much how everyone here feels. Most people were let down and hated the ending, want the gov gone, thought andrea sucked, etc.

Thats not saying much.

I think an interesting storyline would be to head out west to see what they can find. Get some travel action that we saw back in season 1 and 2. There may be a haven or at least some answers out west. Or hell, any direction but sitting still. Has it reached all areas of the globe yet? Perhaps its the scientist in me, but I would need answers.

i do agree the show needs to start traveling again.

Totally agree. I admit the writers are trying to make it more about Carl becoming super hard in the sense of kill all threats. I think they could have made the point better if the guy had put his gun down right away. Frankly, I watched the scene and thought "homie deserves it for not dropping his gun right away"

Dude was a twerp. I guess to be fair, if the zombieA was the moment you started having to use a gun, you might show some hesitation at killing another human being.

Follow your leader syndrome. I think the Gov was clear he valued his men above the Woodbury faithful. I think Martinez was like "well, he's gotten me this far. Plus, everybody knows I'm his right hand man, they might string me up with him"

Best line of the series.

There is a good show somewhere out there that is more in line with Clear than anything else the show has put out. The group traveling the country finding interesting people in interesting situations. With the writers/actors they have, may serve better as an episodic rather than serial show.

Of course hunkering down in a prison, building up the walls, and starting a farm is probably the smart thing to do; it is not the most entertaining thing to do in the hands of these writers/actors. If they had Mad Men actors/writers, that would be a different story.

Only reason I could see them leaving the zombies walking around would be a deterrent/distraction to attackers. When Woodbury attacked they did have to worry about killing the zombies while looking for Rick and his members. But for the other 99% of the time I agree that it makes no sense.
