Radar shows a tightened eye off shore, 13 talking about a landfall. At this point it's all go with it. This forecast was completely poopooed.

Heard it just came ashore east of Matagorda and is now trekking north some.

Edit: TWXlC says it's 20 miles southeast of Matagorda right now and heading NNE So who knows.

Winds starting to kick up here in Texas City (a block off of I-45). Heard a transformer blow and those across the street have no electricity. Fingers crossed. F this S I'm getting a whole house generator ASAP.

Near Jersey Village about an hour ago a neighbor posted a pic of her back fence blown down. Whether that indicates strong gusts or shoddy workmanship is up for debate.

I'm directly south of Manvel in Rosharon off of 1462 between 288 and 35. My weather station in the backyard says 30 MPH sustained winds with 40 MPH gusts right now.

We're not too far from you in the south part of Sienna. Pretty nice gusts last hour and of course the freaking power just went out. Not much heavy rain but been a steady drizzle most of day, so good for yard I guess.

Sounds like the main hit might have been around Sargent's. Listening to the Channel 2 guy on KTRH w/ Matt Thomas and he said Matagorda is 90% without power.

We could have rain through the morning as it moves into the Eastern counties and Louisiana.

Power just went off and on again.

Centerpoint reporting over 105k out, but that's over the greater Houston area; not sure how much of that is Galveston County.

Trying to get a quick s,s, & s out of the way in case we're dark in the morning.
