None of them have any interest in staying open to have the storm shift or stop and they end up stuck with a bunch of kids at school that can't get home. That happened when I was in high school in the late 90s. I remember getting sent home with an apology letter from the superintendent.

If the top end projections occur, we would be blasting schools for not closing. Just two years ago, many were trying to pick up kids through flood waters when Imelda surprised us.

Schools won't deal with just closing just a couple schools.

There are lots of areas that are flood prone. Either causing actual issues or just transportation issues. That is both coming to school and leaving.

The potential liability when dealing with large groups of minors is just too much.

I got stuck at fitz in a flood the night of a vice squad show in the early 2000s. That was one of the wildest nights of my life. They never closed the bar. Such a bad idea.

Something I've been noticing since last night.

All the models keep tracking this thing due north before making its turn, and the weather peeps dutifully follow the models.

Yet, with their own eyes, and by all qualitive observation, this thing keeps tracking NE.

I dunno. Mabye I'm just being the backseat weatherman, but it seems this thing keeps going more and more NE and will have less impact on Houston than originally thought.

My third date with my wife was the night of Allison. We spent the night at The Harp. They did shut down service, but not until about 3.
