Does anyone know/heard anything about YHM rifles?
I am still new to the Ar15. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to remove the rear peep sight? I want to install an Ameriglo rear sight.

I have a YHM quad rail and flip-up front site on my carbine, and they are VERY nice parts. I know there are better out there, but for the money, YHM is good stuff.

Nothing wrong with YHM. Their stuff is heavier than others, maybe not as sleek looking. But its all rock solid. They make very good quality and nicely priced suppressors as well.
If you want to pay more...buy A.R.M.S. or GG&G. But YHM will get it done.

I am not a fan of the AR 15. The 5.56mm round is just too weak.

Personal opinion I stay away from Model 1 and Olympic. Saw a 4 month old Model 1's bolt snap in half and heard enough bad reviews about Olympic to shy away from them. Most other brands are good to go, such as Rock River, Colt, Stag, Bushmaster, S&W, DPMS and others. DPMS and S&W support the shooting sports a lot so I look to buy from them first.

Thoughts on the RRA 6.8SPC mid-length complete uppers? $490 w/o adding a free float tube to it.

Not yet. My old man has everything to reload. I'd just have to get the specific bits for the 6.8.

If any of you guys are shopping and happen across an Armalite AR-10 upper rcvr w/ bcg, I would appreciate a heads up.
I've got a rifle on order from GA Precision but their lead time (waiting for components from Armalite) extends uncomfortably into '09. So I took out a little insurance by landing a stripped lower... now if I can find an upper I might just mail it to them and see if I can cut to the front of the line! If not I've got the makings for a backup.

I'd like to think there will be no ban, but I sure feel like a boob not picking up some of those $99 lowers from places like Bud's a couple months back or more of the bargain bin rifles.

Anyone ever heard of SLR15 lowers? they look normal but seem to be much cheaper than the stuff i see selling on ar15.com. Am i making some mistake getting one for my 6.8 build?
also, who is JP from an earlier post? I was hoping to buy an upper receiver with a 16 or 18" 6.8 SS barrel already set up but can't find one on any of the normal websites.
