There is a 3 gun match every 2nd Saturday of the month at The Impact Zone which is 10 minutes south of Hempstead. Next one should be on April 11th. Club and match info here www.whidpa.com It's not nearly as fancy as the big matches like LaRue, but it's fun and good practice. If you're familiar with your guns I'd shoot it, it's more fun that just watching. As long as you're safe no one cares about your skill level and you'll learn a lot.

OK, got My Larue LT 104 in and mounted my Leupold VXII 2x-7x 33mm scope. Took it to the range today, sans bore sighting, and this is what happened: Numbered from 1-6, groups walking into zero on a windy day at the Range:

I hope that whenever I manage to slap together an AR the parts list includes Larue, LMT and Magpul.
I chose them because it was the best option at the time and the price was right.

AgGunner, saw that this morning on Sniper's Hide. Very nice. I've been reading up over there and started a Sako Quad project w/Lija bbl.

I just dropped $430 on AR accessories on a whim... not to mention spending close to $200 today on a pair of mags and 220 rounds of .223 and 100 rounds of 9mm.
At least my AR will be tacticool with its Omega rail, XTM foliage green rail covers, and LaRue FUG.
Now I just need to drop some money on a dandy optic. Acog is at the top of the list but I could buy another gun with that kind of money. Of course a 9mm handgun is still on the list... or an eotech... hmmm... I'm going to run out of money...

A while back I inherited a Colt Match Target Ar-15, the lower says Target Model Cal. 223, but the barrel says 5.56 NATO 1/7.
I never really noticed the 5.56, and have put a bunch of .223 down the pipe, but I am curious if I can also shoot 5.56??? I am fully aware of the differences b/n 5.56/.223, just not sure since my rifle says both.

Oh, I'm not doubting that Aggunner has a vault full of McM bedded rifles. I only meant that my first one probably won't be my quad! I wouldn't be surprised if he had a Daisy Red Rider in a USCM M40 Return stock!

I never really noticed the 5.56, and have put a bunch of .223 down the pipe, but I am curious if I can also shoot 5.56??? I am fully aware of the differences b/n 5.56/.223, just not sure since my rifle says both.

The lower markings have zero to do with your question, as it's all about the barrel/chamber. 5.56 ammo should be fine.
I don't know why the lowers are even marked for caliber/cartridge?? Since any upper in any AR compatible cartridge will fit your lower.
