My benchmark for whether a QB can take a team to the promised land is Rex Grossman. I think Dak is better than Rex Grossman.
Very true. Just look at Trent Dilfer. But then again the Ravens defense was stout as hell.
Yup. Dak is just an all-time great defense away from being able advance past the divisional round
Well, they lost to GB last year 48-32. SO yeah, a better defense might actually have mattered.

May as well take a chance on Prime, Moore, or Kingsbury. All 3 are likely to be busts. This would be the easiest path to be in a draft position to get a game changing quarterback, which is what it takes to win. If your QB can't put the team on his back to win a game, then odds are you aren't going to win a SB. Dak can't carry a team. His cap number has sentenced us to another 3 years of hell with no ability to fill areas of need.

All of this is on JJ. He listened to the media last summer and their hysterics about not signing Dak soon enough. He knee jerked when he should have let Dak walk at the end of the year with McCarthey. JJ will do the same thing with Parsons, when the smart thing to do would be trade him.

Dak is a very expensive anchor who will continue to drown this team for the next couple of seasons, but kudos to him and his agent for eviscerating Jerry on two consecutive deals.

Yea that's not how any of this works…. Other wise every great player would be a head coach in the nfl. It's very rare that it ever translates to great coaching.

I think the guy that had to fight just to stay in the league, learn the playbook like the back of his hand (probably had to for multiple coaches as a journeyman), and develop great technique generally excels as a coach vs the HOF guy that played for 1 team, and was an athletic specimen

This is a phrase I never thought I'd hear associated with Witten. He's my all time favorite Cowboys so I am not hating, just he never lit up the highlight reel outside of catching EVERYTHING in his vicinity and for running without a helmet against the eagles

You have to be a female or a troll. One guy has been coaching high school football for just a couple of years, while the other guy has worked just about every coaching position you can over 2 decades across many teams from bottom rung to top rung.

Ditka was not a great coach. Good but not great. His overall record was 121-95 a .560 winning pct%. He won his only Super Bowl because the Bears Defense was run by Buddy Ryan. After Ryan left the Bears never made another Super Bowl.

Helluva a deal for a guy who just put up his first above-average season. Feels very Ryan Fitzpatrick. I wonder if there are outs if he regresses back to his mean from years past?
