If I was a reporter, I would ask about the curtains in every interview and press conferences of all players and coaches
I wanna see our defense pissed off, not confused, maybe a little murder in their hearts Reload12, 11/4/11

Whats crazy is he's right about both teams being in the same conditions. But somehow this home field seems to always be a huge disadvantage.

Just when I thought I couldn't despise him anymore…

He was always an egomaniacal buffoon… now we get the grumpy, demented version of it. Wonderful.

Their FA strategy has been abysmal, whether it's extensions of their own guys or shopping the market. There is no vision of what they want as an identity on the field. That starts with hiring a HC but then saddling him with coordinators that are your guys vs his. Sets up for a very weird staff and lockerroom. And they suck at valuing picks for trades, which while I think they need to trade Parsons, concerns me a great deal that they are going to blow it

Right now they could stop the bleeding for the moment by not making more stupid trades. At least the deadline has forced that
I'll take this to the 30,000 foot view. Perhaps the biggest issue for him and the front office revolves around "value". They don't seem to have any sense of what value is with players. Whether they are players they are drafting, trying to extend, signing via free agency or thinking about letting them go. Jerry and the front office misses more times than not recently when it comes to the value of players.

Dak is a great example. In no way shape or form is he worth a penny more than 40 million dollars (in this market). Mingo is another; he's worth a 5th or 6th and we gave up a 4th. Lastly, he has refused to invest into what has been the weakest area of this team for five years now. He has absolutely no pulse on this team and organization right now.

I mean, what are they supposed to do about it right now? How is anything happening now reflective of what Jones does or does not recognize?

It's a nonsensical question

Jerry cant control everything but there are things he can do as the owner. Lets start with putting up a ****ing curtain so your WR isnt completely blinded by the sun

Jerry is a stubborn egomaniac that truly believes that he is always right

Ok, but that has nothing to do with the question.

This is a lost season and there is nothing that can be done now by anyone to change that.

How bout not make stupid trades sending good picks over to other teams for no real reason?

It's not gonna change, either. Jerry won't even put up a curtain because he doesn't want to hear I told you so by fans or the media. He won't hire a GM because he doesn't want to hear that he couldn't win a Super Bowl (or make an NFC Championship) on his own. He extends guys he drafted because he wants to hear how great these guys are for being Cowboys.

And Stephen will almost assuredly be worse. He will be his dad, but with even more of a temper, and more attitude.

Stephen is laughed at in NFL circles and other Execs think he's a know it all jerk too. Super unpopular and not respected .

The Cowboys organization is run by an old man who is egotistical, stubborn, past his prime, surrounded by yes men, can't admit when he's wrong, and doesn't like to hear I told you so.

No matter what side you look at it from, the Cowboys truly are America's Team.

Fairbairn has been awesome for the Texans for years now. One of the best in the league by the numbers, but he's definitely struggled this year.

This is a good summary. Jerry lets his ego get in the way of sound decision making.

Supposedly the reason for lack of a curtain comes from the old Texas stadium where some old players, coach, or announcer said that god literally looks down on the cowboys thru the big hole in the middle of Texas stadium.

The old stadium was a massive dump, but we did win super bowls there and Jerry must want to preserve some way for "god to look down and see his team".

It's silly because the glare from the sun usually always hurts us more than the other team. I really hope we lose every game at this point and let mcclay go to work in the draft room.

Guys. I took my daughters for a walk today during the game. Beautiful weather. Much better use of time.

This. I haven't watched a full cowboy game this season and probably won't (first season ever). It was too nice outside. Went for a motorcycle ride with a buddy around 3. When I got home, played catch outside with my boys and then grilled for dinner. Much better time spent. I came inside, caught up with key plays and that was enough for me to see what another **** show it was.

Jerry sucks and he is losing a lot of support here in DFW. Rightfully so.

I think we're going to be tanking simply because the team is THAT BAD outside of a handful of players, not by choice. With that being said, I think people need to temper some expectations when it comes to tanking and getting a high draft pick. There are some truly AWFUL teams in the NFL right now. The Giants, Panthers, Jags, Browns, Titans and Raiders are all disgusting. Follow that up with New Orleans, Indy, Miami and New England and the Jets. That's 11 teams with 3 or less wins. Truly some of the worst NFL football I've seen in a long long time.

ETA: Miami is also 2-6 even though they are closer to a .500 team with a healthy Tua.

I don't doubt you are correct, but he could just open the roof, which he never does for some reason.

I'm still convinced that someone forgot to account for the setting sun in the design process. Because if they did that on purpose they should never work in the field again

I don't think they forgot. I think they wanted the Rangers ballpark visible from the other end and just decided to YOLO it, knowing curtains (which they have) could solve an issue at the other end. The other end points directly at The Ballpark.

That's cool and all, but maybe don't build the stadium with the big window facing west? God could always look from another direction

I'm here too. I went from 1983 to 2009 when my wife had cancer without missing a single quarter of Cowboys football. We are talking 3-13, 1-15. Then again 2010 - 2023 without missing a full game. I have completely checked out on this organization now. It's super frustrating when us as fans can see answers and solutions year after year and the Jones family cannot

Jerry Jones will not sell. He will not wanna risk the blow to his ego if another owner comes in and starts winning. Our best hope is Jerry kicks the bucket and his estate ends up in an inheritance mess like the 49ers and Dolphins a few years ago and the family is forced to sell

Junior told the story this morning. He said they took a tour about a year before it opened. He mentioned the orientation and sun issue to the main architect, and the guy had a look of surprise on his face.

He very well could be exaggerating or misremembering something from 16 years ago. But it also wouldn't surprise me.

Didn't want to subject everyone to that terrible weather yesterday.

They do the same stupid crap at the ballpark. Never open the roof even in perfect weather.

There is ZERO chance the Jones family ever sells in the foreseeable future. The brand is too intertwined with the family identity.
