As far as additions with the defense goes, I just don't see many options. Reddick? Sure you could do that but you'd have to sign in to a long term deal in order to get him.
One of the great things about the Giants game was Mazi and Overshown were great. If, and it's a big if, they can continue that kind of play the homegrown talent we'll fix itself.
This team's identity has and will always be its passing game. We need to bolster that. Amari Cooper is the obvious choice imo.

You know what I mean. Glaring holes on the roster and standing pat in FA. Now with key injuries to guys on defense it will get rougher. McCarthy is dead man walking now.
I'm actually interested to see how this defense plays without Parsons and DLaw. Probably going to be ugly, but we'll see. A future without both may not be too far away

Interesting new stat that PFF is tracking. 47.78% of drop backs so far this year without motion, play action, quick passing options, RPOs, or screens. Last year it was 28.17% which would certainly explain why the play calling this year has been so frustrating compared to previous years

I don't think all hope is lost just yet. Yeah, they went into the season really banking on a bunch of young guys. And on defense it's also a different system to learn for everyone.
I thought I saw a defense playing MUCH harder last week. That could just be guys finally understanding what to do. Mazi played well. Overshown looks like a difference maker. I thought Kneeland looked really stout at DE. We will see how this goes. It's a long season.

That's a function of a **** running game and playing from so far behind in 2 games. Play action is useless. Many times motion is used to set up run blocking or some eye candy to help the run. When you are way behind, neither matters + why waste time on useless motion.

Adams is 31. Just how long do you want to sign him for? If you were all in for this year, it's a great investment, but it's obvious Jerry is definitely not, all in.

I know there's a lot of debate about using a 1st on a RB but if he's elite like a Biljan or Zeke he could make a huge impact right away. Ride him 4-5 years on a rookie deal while Dak and CeeDee are on their big deals and see what happens.

We also should be set on the o-line for the foreseeable future, so there's no reason for us to use a picks on that position. I would focus on getting offensive weapons and literally anyone in the defensive front 7.

Here's the thing though, not all first round picks are created equal.
Also, Bijan has not been elite.
If the Cowboys have a decent year and are picking in the late teens or 20s, absolutely you grab the top RB in the draft if he's there.
Drafting a RB top 5 is still ill-advised, IMO. Unless he is a surefire Adrian Peterson type, go for it. But Bijan, as a good example, is not giving value for his draft spot.
