Is it too soon to start a Captain Marvel thread? I don't know much about her beyond friends with Logan and Rogue steals her superman powers.
Why is she SO powerful and more powerful than other Kree?

I'd also like to get some background on what makes her so strong. Even trying to get some background on Wikipedia today proved tedious and confusing.
Apparently there have been lots of captain marvels, it's a title bestowed upon someone. Carol Danvers is this version of CM and she was part of a nuclear explosion or some such that gave her superpowers.
It's a Marvel Comics character created in the 70's, so yes that it is accurate. The movies have been successful by picking one version or one storyline and repacking it for simple, linear plots. So even people who know their comic book history don't know what the movie's going to do until they release information. All I can tell from the one trailer I've watched is that we're probably gonna see some cool alien shape-shifting.Quote:

Theoretically, we may get this version of Rogue down the road in the MCU - the tough, tortured, charming and powerful version of Rogue, instead of the mousy teenaged Anna Paquin version from the 2000-2006 films.

Comic book question:
How does the Muslim Ms. Marvel play into this?
There was a comic titled Ms Marvel on prime reader, so I downloaded it last week. It was about some Muslim teenage girl whose hands get really big and she fights crime. Kind of like a halla version of kick ass. It referenced Capt Marvel. But is the a replacement for her like a new doctor? Or something else?

I like that they are so trying to emphasize "girl power" that they have a zoomed in shot of her crotch at 1:11.

What's was the song from the beginning of the clip? I seem to remember that from my youth.
