MAYBE with the Super Bowl on February 3, or hopefully by the end of February. I'd say, at the latest, with Captain Marvel the week of March 8th. Sony only has Miss Bala in the next couple of months - and that's February 1st - so a Miss Bala/Super Bowl combo might be a good play, but my gut says it'll be a bit later. Maybe not, though.

You think it's a big enough movie to warrant SB airtime? That doesn't seem like a Tarantino move, but I guess we'll see.

With Pitt AND DiCaprio, absolutely. Not to mention the rest of the cast. I think Sony goes BIG with this one. Maybe not Super Bowl big (only because it might be too early), but they're gonna market the hell out of this thing.

Btw, I'd say this means a trailer is definitely on the way. Spreads like this rarely *don't* imminently precede a trailer. How imminent, I'm not sure, but a Super Bowl debut is looking a lot more plausible now.

When you have Brad Pitt AND Leonardo DiCaprio in your movie, any other poster than just the two of them, front and center, is a fail. It's a teaser poster. Same with the trailer, which will be a teaser trailer. Traditional teaser trailers are almost always 90 seconds. This movie is still four months away. We likely won't get a final poster / full trailer until late May / early June.

Hm. That actually makes me wonder if QT would ever break the 4th wall in this movie. I don't think he's ever done it, and we know he idolizes Scorsese, who does it in almost every movie. And especially in Wolf of Wall Street.

Would be interesting for sure.

Edit: Technically I guess he did, in the opening credits of Kill Bill Vol 2.

I'm thinking Tarantino goes a little more obscure, but California Dreamin' wouldn't be bad. That said, Crimson and Clover has been used in two trailers as of late, so surely they don't go that route...
