I think I remember him saying it was because it "wasn't the lead"? Pretty stupid decision, but glad he turned it down. Foxx killed it.

Wasn't the lead? He was offered the role of Django in a movie called Django Unchained...


He turned it down because he didn't want to hurt his super sugary, non-threatening image.

Yeah, he said he thought the real protagonist was Schultz. I could swear I read that or saw it in a video somewhere. But he also has his pr friendly reason that it was about violence instead of being a love story.

The ArcLight Hollywood on Sunset, not far from the 101. That's the one with the iconic Dome, which has been in dozens of movies, including this one they're shooting tonight. It used to be the only location, but in the past 5-8 years or so they've been sprouting up in Pasadena, Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica, and a few other places.

The Dome is the main theater, but there's a connected building that houses the 10 or so other theaters as well...

Nice. The Dome is probably my favorite theater in LA. On opening weekend for a big movie, nothing matches the energy there. The screen is curved, which some people don't like, but I dig it. The one think that sucks are the seats. Too tightly crammed together and just not comfortable. If they could just redo the seats, it'd be perfect.
