How long do you want to ignore this user?
Even when not a lot happens, this show is still badass. The pacing is great and visually it's unlike anything else. At the end I did a "wait, did anything just happen?", but the hour flew by even without much development on the story front- and that's a sign of a good show.

Jesse is not just depressed, he is broken, and his story will not end well.

Hank is in the same situation. That is why he can't deal with Marie anymore. He is ****ing broken.

Both of these guys are casualties caused by Walt's choices. Walt's bad choices are having ripple effects on all of the people closest to him.

Every time you see Jesse crazy-depressed, or Hank crazy-hating on Marie, it is the outcome of Walt's choices. This is a big theme the show is making more and more clear.

I too am trying to figure out why Mike beat up Walt. It could be he's just trying to keep up appearances, but I feel like it's probably more than that. Maybe his loyalty to Gus?

And the minerals have to tie in somehow. They will probably have something to do with the Heisenberg investigation and the blue crystals.

And I loved the quick flash back at the beginning to Walt's nut grab when he walked out of the car wash from season 1. Hahaha

"Wipe down this!"

Walt had just explained he did it all for loyalty to Jesse and self defense. The same applies to Mike and Gus.

Hank was concerned if the delivered geo's were broken. He's trying to figure out the mystery of the blue crystals.

Killing Gus right now would be a bad idea for Walt and Mike as well. Gus is paying them millions to do what they do, but that all goes away if they kill Gus. Mike & Walt know nothing of the distribution side of the business, the money laundering & cover businesses, the relationships with other cartels, the protection required for the sales force, or the other various pieces of the business. They would need a plan before killing Gus, and Mike probably knows that.

I don't think Mike's loyalty to Gus is strong at all, and he's probably thinking about his exit strategy after the Victor incident. But Walt is thinking irrationally right now and Mike knows it. Maybe this beat-down will straighten Walt out so that he and Mike may actually be able to team up in the future.

Also, immediately before the ass-whipping, Walt said "get me into a room with him and I'll do the rest" as if he's the trained hitman instead of Mike. That would be like Mike lecturing Walt about the periodic table. If I were Mike, I'd probably be offended by Walt's comment. Perhaps that's what triggered the beat-down?

In regards to the blue color, it's right in front of him. Remember when they saw the video of Jesse and Walt stealing the chemical? I'm probably wrong, but didn't they know what caused the blue? And wouldn't it be as simple as breaking down the blue meth chemically? It's got to be something else he's doing with the minerals.

i don't think it's this simple, but hank may also just be developing an obsession with something he has control over. being laid up in a bed, largely useless probably makes your mind do weird things and become interested in weird ****.

I guess I am just easily pleased, but i dont recall ever being dissapointed with a BB episode. Even the slower ones (like last night) are money to me.

'Fly' last season was the only one that kinda irked me.
Doug Christie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fly was really good...it was just a tonal shift from the craziness in the previous eps.

it was good in the context of the episode, i guess it was just the constant scene in the lab.

two weeks ago I hadn't seen a single minute of this show. I am now all caught up. It was addicting and I FLEW through seasons 1,2,3.

Really like the show. I was pissed to see Jesse backslide. I want him to get clean and redeemed.

Also, they really need to start explaining the brother-in-laws lousy attitude. I mean I understand he is bitter about his situation but (a) why is he so pissed at the wife? (b) what's up with his love of minerals?

Also, why is Hank layed up in bed? He is obviously well enough to do rehab, and he arms work don't they? So why can't he use a wheelchair? Hell even just a motorized one?
Rudyjax

He's taking his anger out on her. It's very common for people who are angry at the situation to take it out on the family member that helps out the most. She has to change his bedpan, and that pisses him off. Etc.

I think Hank's also still mad about her forcing him out of the hospital to get rehabbed at home.

I'm wondering what Walt's going to do when Hank starts putting the pieces together and getting closer and closer to uncovering his secret. I wouldn't put it past him to kill Hank at this point.

I chalk this up to pride. The guy has an image to uphold, remember all of the stalling when he wouldn't go back to the DEA? He's afraid of appearing weak to people.

Exactly. That's why he's so mean to Marie too, because he hates having to be taken care of like that and is embarrassed. He feels like all of her excitement and encouragement is just patronizing.

Really? I mean I know Walt has killed people by now, but it would still be a monumental shift towards the "dark side" to see Walt kill Hank. I don't think he has it in him yet. He may go full Heisenberg mode for the rest of the show when/if he kills Gus though.
Jab

Yeah I couldn't imagine that kind of turn in the near future either, but by the end of the show I could see Walt rationalizing just about any kind of behavior as a misguided effort to protect his "family" (however loosely defined).

In Season 3 I recall Walt having a conversation with Skylar where he implied that Hank wasn't really his family in light of their divorce (well, he thougt they were divorced). I think that was after Jesse's beating. Maybe his feelings changed after Hank was shot and Skylar didn't sign the divorce papers, but Walt has never really liked Hank all that much. You could even see it as early as Season 1 in his facial expressions and it was especially obvious after the poolside confrontation when Walt Jr. was drunk. Given an opportunity, he may actually take some pleasure in offing him.

Speaking of Walt Jr., he's sure barely been around the first 2 episodes (was he even in the first?). Not that I'm really complaining....

i think it's going to become more and more clear that walt is really only interested in saving himself. in the end, everyone else is expendable.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't think Walt Jr. or the baby are expendable. Skyler either.

I think at some point he'll be forced to either kill Hank or get busted.

i kinda think this is going to end with Hank killing Walt

i think Walt ends up killing Marie somehow, turning Hank into the crippled Hulk
