I'm stealing from Sepinwall's blog here, but the scene in the diner was very reminiscent of Pulp Fiction.
Is this the beginning of the end? Will the death of Gale lead to the ultimate unraveling of everything? The police will find Gale's "lab notes" that the camera showed at the the end that he had at the beginning of the episode. I think it will do more than make the police think he was Heisenberg. Could it lead back to Gus and his whole operation? Forcing Gus and Walt into even more of a forced alliance against the police?
hereto- either that, or it will lead to gus' unraveling and walt will sort of slide into running a large drug business.
it seems like that's been the whole arc of the series...how does a person become such an evil, ruthless drug lord? we're watching his transformation and each step gets him in deeper.

Have they given us a timeframe on how many seasons we have left?

and/or
Walt in jail/on the run (season 7)
Though I'm not sure 7 is necessary

I haven't seen anything...I get the feeling they'll keep writing it as long as there's somewhere to go with the plot and characters. I think those are all things that can still happen, so I'd expect at least another couple seasons, depending on how this season goes.
Gilligan recently hinted S5 could be the end, though this means nothing. Pretty sure AMC already squeezed 2 more years out of what Weiner said he would do for Mad Men.

It was a good episode, but I'm not sure what the point of the scene with Hank. The introduction of him ordering "minerals" was too specific not to have a bearing on something in the future. That being said, it didn't really seem to serve any purpose but to darken an already dark episode.

They got blood on their clothes so the Kenny Rogers shirts were implying they went to Wal Mart and bought the cheapest thing available. Probably burned their old clothes.

That was my thought sharkenleo. Perhaps he's trying to learn about the blue meth by researching other types of blue chrystals?
On another note, this show is truly at a whole different level compared to anything else out there right now. It's amazing how they can make 10 minutes of a guy silently walking slowly across a room and changing clothes so terrifying and exciting.

this show builds tension like no other. it was only heightened by Walt's constant pleading for his life. It will be interesting to see what Jesse becomes from here. He seemed steeled by what happened, almost pissed off vs Walt watching in horror
As soon as Gus slit Victor's throat, you could see the look in Jesse's eyes totally change. He understood at that point that they were all killers, and each and every one of them would do what they had to do to survive.

Great opening episode.
Jesse definately seemed like a changed man at the end. It should be interesting to see what becomes of him going forward. Also, the long slow walk by Gus was just awesome. Who would have thought a man walking around a room like that would be so intense?
I'm also thrilled I have AMC in HD this year... finally... lol

it was an "eh" episode, but this show has those. in retrospect, a lot more happened in this show that we know right now.
Jesse is one troubled dude. Suicidal maybe? I get the feeling the Brock is going to be what pulls him back to sobriety.
How dumb is Walter? Why wouldn't he assume that a) he's still being followed or b) Gus' house is watched? Also, he deserved the ass whipping. He has skated through this show relatively untouched while Jesse gets a fairly regular beating.
Marie is going to cheat on Hank.
Skyler needs more time on the treadmill and less sitting on her ass counting cars.
