I loved the kill shot. Freaking great. Gus' reaction when he figured it out....priceless!

I'll tell ya, I didn't want to believe it was Walt. He is a BAD man.

Tell me this didn't feel like a series finale.

Where on earth does it go from here?

The lab is gone, Gus is gone, the cartel is gone.

I can't even begin to think what the next season will be about.

Well, walt and jessie are still in a precarious position with the DEA and whoever else is going to want revenge for gus/cartel. And then who will take over the ABQ meth production.

I bet next season is a showdown between Walt and Hank. Not necessarily a physical showdown, but one of wits.

Or if Jesse ever finds out that Walt is responsible, it's going down.

There's a huge void now with gus and the cartel out of the picture. The demand and money are still there for meth. Good ending for walt. Id say not so much next season, but who knows where they go from here. Great season... now we have to wait.....

Good article on the finale.

Q.

I have to say that this season finale almost felt like a series finale, with all of the story lines that it appears to wrap up. Was that by design?
A.

That is on purpose. We weren’t sure that we would have a fifth season when we were plotting out the end of Season 4. So we wanted to make the end of Season 4 as satisfying and as complete as possible, not knowing what the future would hold. Having said that, there are a couple of big, outstanding questions still in play. But I agree with you, if the show had not gone on past the end of Season 4 – although I’m very happy to say that it indeed will – but if it weren’t to go forward, I think I could be satisfied on some level, by that episode.

At first I thought, "NO WAY HE WALKS AWAY FROM THAT" and then I audibly gasped when I saw the camera rotate around.

Of all the schemes and plans Walt has made, that was his masterpiece. He probably knew that the kid could make it through from a berry from that plant (albeit still willing to take that chance, so he's not exactly innocent). I knew there had to be something with that shot of the plant from the previous episode. But altogether, absolutely incredible.

I agree-- next season will be Walt vs. Hank, and I feel like somehow Walt vs. Jesse. There's no way he doesn't end up finding out about the plant somehow. Doubt they'd leave that plot point uncovered.

God summer 2012 can't come fast enough!!

I think the 1st half of Season 5 will be about the DEA & Hank's mission to find out what really happened. It's obvious Gus really was who Hank thought he was...but they'll want to know who killed him.

Eventually, Jesse will figure out that Walt let Jane die, poisoned Brock, and had been manipulating Jesse the whole time. So the 2nd half the season will be Walt vs Jesse.

Also, Hank will figure out that Walt is Heisenberg. I bet the 2nd half will also have a lot of "Walt vs Hank".

I still think Walt will kill a family member (Skyler or Hank most likely) or Jesse (who's like family) in the final episode in order to save his own a$s. That would be the ultimate act of someone who's "broken bad", and that's the whole point of the show.

Absolutely incredible... still speechless. It's now time for Walt's to die a slow painful 13 episode death though...

Rewind a couple of episodes with Walt in his back yard spinning his gun on the table.

Watching the encore, and that scene of Gus walking into the nursing home with the music playing is awesomely done. Get a real sense that he's walking to his death.

Alright, the plant wasn't a castor plant, but I knew the plant was significant.

I was mostly right on the money.
BillOnCapitolHill
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yep. The plant was the key.

Out of curiosity how did Walt know when to trigger the bomb remotely? The following scene was walt at the airport parking lot. They really didnt say if the radio transmitter was going to Walt's walkie.

Also, the woman in the next room saw Walt.

The music being played reminded me a lot of the Good,Bad,Ugly's final scene.
