I think the shot meant that Walt was trapped. No where to run.

And Gus isn't a murdering psycho... He has no loyalty to anyone but his business/self.

Not sure what reference you guys are referring to, but I did like the Godfather reference with the oranges when Ted dies.

I've long thought that Walt was a semi-Michael Douglas from Falling Down and now it couldn't be more true. Count me in the Walt's-about-to-go-full-rampage camp. Can't freaking wait.

There are a ton of reasons why Walt won't kill Jesse.

-That's pretty much exactly how last season ended (kill the other guy that knows the "recipe" so you're the last remaining person with that knowledge)
-Hank is already too close to the truth for Gus to let Walt be a part of his team anymore
-Walt knows that Jesse and he are too powerful of a team

I don't think Walt has "broken bad" enough to kill his own brother-in-law to save his own life. That being said, I think killing Gus is his only option.

Also, I think some of you guys are reading too deep into certain things and it's throwing you off. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think we should rule out Ted rising from the dead as a zombie so AMC can merge two of its hottest shows, Walking Dead and Breaking Bad into a single show to cut down on expenses. /fan who reads too much into things.

That would be the greatest television crossover event since Urkel crash landed in the Tanner's house in San Francisco and helped Stephanie realize that it's whats on the inside that counts... And that glasses can be pretty darn cool.

i agree. and i wouldn't expect the writers to go back to that well again, but it's a proven and logical avenue for Walt. plus it's "feasible" at this point.

Gus loses leverage if Walt is his only proven cook. Gus might close down SuperLab and take extreme measures (i.e. kidnap Walt to parts unknown) in order to preserve his meth supply, but he won't kick Walt to the curb if he's the only guy.

quote:
-Walt knows that Jesse and he are too powerful of a team

that is over. they aren't a team anymore. and unless Jesse feels threatened by Gus, there's no reason to mend their fences.

i do think that Mike being out of commission gives Walt (or some other violent agent) a window.

i'm just in the dark at to what the plot would be post-Gus. i suppose it would become Hank v. Walt at that point.

I think that's gotta be the endgame, though. Hank knows Gus is insanely powerful in the biz... Heisenberg kills Gus and his legend in Hank's mind grows exponentially... Hank finds out Walt is Heisenberg... Series ending fireworks.

I don't know if Gus will die in the remaining 2 episodes of the season, but I think the above is the most logical way to wind down the series.

would it be called Breaking Dead or Walking Bad ?

Depends on which set of writers takes over.

Walking Bad is already an applicable name for the non-crossover version of Dead...

I wouldn't be surprised if Gus dies by someone other than Walt. A missed cartel member, a member of his team turning on him, DEA, etc.

What if we find out that Walt is Don Draper's son and the new super meth formula Walt invents actually causes people to die and rise from the grave?

Then you could have Don return from the dead looking all dapper in his three piece suits, have sex with Skyler then eat her and have an awesome final showdown between father and son.

The Walking Mad... Bad?

i agree

wouldn't it stand to reason that no Gus = no SuperLab = no meth = no distribution = no money?

it would seem to be a somewhat heavy lift to fill a 16-episode season without those components

it would make more sense to kill Gus in Season 5 and just have this season's cliffhanger be that Hank gets wise to Walt being the meth cook

and also a massive earthquake that kills Jesse's girlfriend's kid

This show is insane, plain and simple. It has easily taken about 3 years off my life with its stress, tension and insanity. It takes me about an hour after these damn episodes to calm down and catch my breath and we have TWO MORE freaking episodes remaining in this season. I can't take it anymore. I give up. Someone put me in a drum and liquify me.

I think the ties between Walt and Jesse are about to be completely cut. When Walt tells Gus that Jesse will never agree to cook for him if he kills Walt, no matter how much Gus has "brain washed" Jesse....Gus tells Walt something to the effect of "I can change that". I wonder if Gus knows about Walt not saving Jesse's girl (ha ha) when she overdosed. Jesse would probably go ape *****and kill Walt himself.

Just spitballing here..could Walt convince Hank he's indebted/being blackmailed by Gus to cook because of his gambling debts? Maybe he recruits Hank to kill Gus.

not sure how he would incur the debt from gus. I just dont see how hank doesnt already know. walt has been involved with the investigation of heisenberg for so long now, and with every lead that hank gets, you can see the anxiety growing in walt. I thought the car accident would surely be the turning point for hank.

I could see Walt using them paying Hank’s medical bills as leverage for convincing Hank to take the investigation in another direction. Not really blackmail but more of a ‘I scratched your back now scratch mine’.

It will be interesting to see if Hank can justify sweeping Walts charges under the rug like he did with his wife.

I like Ag_07's theory. There's definitely going to be some sort of consequence when its realized Hank's bills were all paid with dirty money. Will he break bad to cover it up and hide Walt's involvement in everything?
SWAG_05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
My guess, Gus dies at end of season, either by Walt or DE or Cartel. Doesn't matter. It becomes Jessie vs Walt. Meanwhile, DEA tries to sort out superlab. Cliffhanger, Hank makes a connection that Walt could be Heisenberg. The next season is Walt vs Jessie, while Hank slowy realizes and accepts Walt's involvement and decides what to do about it. Plus Skylar continues to also bring more heat on the family. Ted crap not going away so easy. I so thought the rug thing was a wire and Ted had made a deal. Oh, and Walt, totally off the deep end the whole time.

What would the feds want with Skylar? She isnt a bigger fish than Ted. What would they gain by making a deal with him unless he somehow knew about the Carwash being a front for Walts drug business?

Yea, I am probably way off, but that was the first thought I had when he made sure the rug was down. I figure the IRS always wants to catch other criminals. Or he is trying to make a deal so he doesn't have to pay.

Either way it was an awesome episode.
Aggie_Journalist

Given how dumb ted was, I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd done a wire on his own without the IRS to better blackmail her. (I definitely thought we were going to get a more prolonged blackmail experience myself.) I can se where swag's coming from
