I may be a novice when it comes to laying brick, but for the last week I keep telling myself "it only looks like 3 more days of work on the brick" and yet things are moving slowly.

Does the rain factor into it and does stacking brick at great heights require more time for stability?

AGAZ03, what I've noticed is that when they hit a section that will be stone, progress slows down considerably. And yeah, obviously the rain appears to have slowed them down, too. Based on Mason's latest pictures, it also appears like there is more of an emphasis to get the first base side completed. I think they're actually going to finish that side first, now.

Something I noticed the day that it rained was that they were lifting each white stone one at a time up to the workers. With the brick they can lift a pallet of red brick up. What also takes time is the moving of the buckets/containers that have the concrete. I guess the higher you go makes it harder to take down or bring up.

While I'm no expert I've noticed the column on the right end of this section has been unfinised for longer than the section on the left. This leads me to believe that something behind the scenes is ongoing. There is a limit to how much can be stacked on a single day due to letting the mortar below harden enough that you don't crush it. Like concrete it needs time to get to full strength. Might also have to wait longer above the arches to allow more strength.

I don't think the rain will slow them down other than you can't mix mortar/lay brick when its raining due to getting the water ratios correct. Water that runs down behind the brick should drain out of weep holes at the bottom of the wall.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the woman walking the dog in the outfield in a couple of the previous pics.

She (and the dog) must be very tight with Leo.

It appears they have adjusted the construction cam. All you can see now is the entrance.

I guess I will start eating crow. It sure looks like they are going to have Olsen pretty close to 100% by opening day.

It was not looking good a couple of weeks ago, but the masonry contractor has really covered some ground in a hurry. I don't know what kind of brick counts he was getting, or how many masons they were running, but their progress is pretty impressive.

It may not be obvious from the photos, but there is a ton of work and coordination going on at one time to make this thing come together, and it is impressive to see it happen. They have covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time, especially with some of the weather that we have had lately.

If they don't get it done, it won't be from lack of effort or resources. I am hearing that Skanska has over 60 of their own field personnel on site and 9 superintendants. That is an amazing amount of GC labor on a project of that size. Good to see that they are selling out to get it done by opening day, although it can't be great for the bottom line unless they planned on that type of effort at the end.

Why railings on top of dugout? Just attach net to top of dugout.

Don't know the setup with the reconfiguration but in the past the net did not extend to the dugouts and with the new configuration the dugouts are even further down the line.

Most fans don't want to sit behind the net. Aggie Tickets sent me a photo from my seats, and it appears that the net stops about even with the tunnels down to the club--not quite to the edge of the dugout. I'm a little dissappointed that my view of the plate (but not the majority of the field) will now be through the net, but at least its a new net with no support poles.

Twk, I'm thinking the view thru the net will be a lot better than the view thru the railings.

There are 8 suites upstairs (four on either side of the press box) and two dugout suites (one at the end of each dugout).

Unless the railings are significantly higher then in the past they really only obstructed ones view if you sat in the front row and only then if you slumped instead of sitting up straight.
