My guess is that they will serve as a backing for something to be fastened to the wall. Maybe desks or some other furnishing in the ticket office?

Fingers crossed, but I think I might have dodged a bullet. My seats are section 105, Row 8, Seats 10-8, basically right on the divide between 104 and 105. Looks like a lot of row 8 was wiped out for handicapped seating in various sections, but if I'm seeing this right, my seats might have escaped. Anxious to find out.

I made sure to take pictures of the handicap seating so people could see if their seats are no longer there. The handicap seating takes up the top two rows in the sections that have them.

Would you not have been notified by now if your seats were going to be moved?

Thanks for all the pics.

My seats are in row 2 of section 115. I think they are gone because of the tunnel that runs beside the Aggie dugout to the new field level section. I've have had them since 1989. I wonder where I'll be moved to?

Should be OK but little nervous myself because section 104 looks so different in this pic.

My concern had been that with the new wall a lot of people will not be able to see all of the field anymore. Seeing the pictures from the dugout I am now sure that we won't be able to see as much as we used to.

I've been trying to figure out where sections are because the dugout appears to have moved down the line. 101 and 102 look to be divided, but I don't see an aisle between 103 and 104... just a dark line where the aisle should be. There looks to be another dark line down the middle of what I think is/was 104/105. Does this look about right?

Dabo start wi 100 instead of 101 and you see your error. I made the same mistake.

there is a 100?

If you use the top as a guide it will be easier.

101 is directly under 201 and so on...

The handrails split the odd to even transition (201 to 202, 203 to 204, etc.).

It appears you have 105 and 106 way too far down the line.

I couldn't find a good photo of the first base side for comparison, but I did find this one of the 3rd base side which gave me some information and jogged my memory:

If you will count the support columns, I believe that the 5th colum was situated just to the left (looking form the field) of the aisle that separated sections 105 and 106, so Texas Rebel's red lines are pretty close to accurate (and the first section is 101, by the way). But, looking at the handicapped platforms has caused me to wonder if they aren't going to completely redo the aisles and sections downstairs. If you'll notice, you'll see that the line separating 105 and 106 (where an aisle was located) bisects a handicapped platform, and I see no indication of an aisle there (look at one of the pictures, above, without any markings). Seems to me that there may fewer aisles on first deck. If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing (based on steps and openings between handicapped platforms), it looks like there is one aisle to the left (East) of the first handicapped platform, one aisle halfway between the first and second handicapped platforms, then one that bisects the second and third handicapped platforms. Perhaps they are looking at fewer aisles in order to compensate for the loss of seats due to the handicapped platforms.

how much smaller is the capacity going to be? Although it is going to be a lot nicer, it looks like we lost a lot of seats.
mason12

If I had to guess we lost about 125 of the old seats(on first deck) because of the handicap seats take up the last two rows of the sections that have them and the club entrances took seats away. But we added club seats and the new handicap seats so that's probably +60 (about 30 club and 30 handicap) I could be way off, it could be more but it isn't a huge loss I think. The biggest loss comes on the second deck.

I sit corrected. Could've sworn there was a section 100 before...

Originally they had said capacity would be about 5,400. Recently that number was revised to about 6,100.

are the entries into upper deck in the same place?

yes, the entries to the 2nd deck will be the same. Does anyone know what the deck/platform type structure next to the ends of the suites are?

Handicap seating. A change brought on by the work on the second deck.

Looking great. Season ticket holder here for Gamecock baseball since '93. Really looking forward to checking out Olsen feild in the future.

They are installing the windows up at the top near the suites. They are stacking the cinder block wall where the bathrooms will be on the 3rd base side. The brick on the baseball operations building is looking good. Pictures will come later, probably tonight.

Edit: it sure does take a while to put in windows. There are 4 pieces of glass per a window. They just finished putting in two windows (8 pieces) on the 3rd base side near the stairs.

I would really like for them to start bricking so we can really see what the outside will look like.

i assume the black spray is a moisture barrier, the pink boards are insulation, and how do you tie the brick to the building? Looks amazing!

Look at the picture posted before your post. If you look close enough on the right side of the building you can see little pieces of metal in a grid pattern. They use that to anchor the wall/brick.

If looks like they forgot to use the beige bricks.

Just trying to be funny. I know they switches the brick color.

The steel you see at along the top of the building will support the coping, and also support brick courses over windows etc. On wood frame construction they nail galvanized steel strips with corrugated edges to the wall and fold them over into the mortar to tie the brick to the wall. I'm sure they have to do something similar with a brick facade on a concrete wall, or concrete masonry unit wall as well.

Not a pic from the stadium... Random Google pic

More info here... Says the corrugated tie pictured above is not to be used on CMU walls..
