What about the wiring for the PA system and the video board? Will there come a point where you turn things over to the engineers from the athletic department, or is that being done as you go?

I believe instead of chain link fencing it is metal piping with tension wire through it like at Reed. Atleast that is what is currently being put in the club section between the old seating and the new field level seating.

Yep new speakers. They are building a production room for 12th Man TV so there will be wiring for video equipment. Did the video board need new wiring??

I believe the backstop netting will wrap around to each dugout. Any seat beyond that, and you'll have to protect yourself, just like every other ballpark.

Anyone ever noticed the scaffolding that seemingly pops up out of no where in Mason's pics? Seen it a couple of times now... Go back to his pics on Jan 2nd at sunset. Several pics, then bam right behind the home plate entrance is 100' tall scaffolding

What gets me is that the construction workers are completely ignorig the "No Scaffolds Permitted" signs posted on the out filed walls.


They are going to get into some serious trouble.

getting back to the uncovered section of concourse..... is there only one area down the 3rd base line exposed or is there another area down the 1st base line? If so, what about a fly ball that is hit just right and hits a child in the head while they are carrying their Blue Bell ice cream?

The in one picture gone the next is because I would normally wait for them to be out of the way before I would take another picture. I am parked in the parking lot right now and they are bricking the main stadium 3rd base side. It looks like they are working on capping off the top of the baseball ops building.

I took pictures of the scoreboard. Also, if you look close you can see the railing that I was talking about. It is not chain link. You can also see them leveling out the new dirt on the infield.

Mason - IMO, it looks like the barrier between the old seating and new seating is framing for a type of glass barrier that you see at many pro stadiums and not the tension wire. Think that will look great

Looking at the pic showing both the indoor batting cage and the new baseball operations building, the contrast between the two is simply amazing. Every new athletic facility on campus should be modeled after the renovated Olsen. Truly top notch.

Forget about matching new facilities with the look of existing ones; those are sunk costs. The look of Olsen should be THE standard going forward.

Unless you are a small child on the first row, you should be able to see over the rail.

The rail is 42" I believe. Same as second deck.

There were two guys working on the bricking and I saw two guys setting up scaffolding near the suites on the handicap platform and there was a guy working on the main entrance arches.

Pictures taken 1-8-12 after the women's basetball game. They were working before it started raining.

Lights are on the light poles in the outfield. You can see they have the walls are up on the suites.
