Capt Dan or anyone else that may know...are they going to brick in the whole outside where the arches will be? By the looks on the webcam it looks like that may be what they are doing. FWIW I think that would be the best idea. At least it will help negate the wind tunnel effect on the first level

The bricking is where the concession and bathrooms are. The only true openings will we towards the end of the seating area where the standing room for the concession stands will be. There is also no roof over that area. The old metal arches where removed so they could be built of stone.

Why would u do that?
It seems like they could easily add metal beams and some type off covering over the open ends of the concourse. It could be something that doesn't fit into the current budget, but could be added later.
The upper area will be able to accommodate future suites.
How much extra would it cost to throw up a temporary metal roof for those areas?
Not much point. Roof is not needed most of the time. Sun will not shine thru the gap much. Plenty of other places to hide from rain. Just more places for birds and bats.

I went by yesterday around 5 but forgot to post them. I'll post them when I get home later. They have started putting in the cinder block on the 1st base side since they finished the 3rd base side wall. They are still working on the suites/press box and all the stuff under the bowl.
The stadium WILL be open for first pitch.
The schedule was always difficult and continues to be. Let us get a bit closer to gameday before I admit defeat. Currently the schedule has all but some minor finish work being complete. We could really stand some nice, warm, dry days and nights for the next month. (Sorry farmers)

Just a guess, but I don't think this renovation is near as extensive as the one at the Disch.
They had to do lead paint (and possibly asbestos) abatement at the Disch. Also believe some serious excavation was involved.

They put a fresh coat of Maroon paint of the score board! I wasn't able to get a picture.
Looks like the light poles are about to go in.
There was a lot going on so I wasn't able to get close pictures.
If you didn't know they are replacing the infield dirt. That is what you can see in the first picture.
I was stopped for a train that is why I took these last two pictures.

Do you guys know if the old chain link fence is making a return - the one that was down the 1st/3rd base lines further down the line. Basically the reason no one wanted 1st row seats.
yeah...$24 million spent renovating the stadium and they are going to throw up the chain link fence again
I gathered sarcasm was coming but you never know. I see it as 24 mil and we still didn't replace the scoreboard. I'm mean c'mon man...
