I did not realize there were so many other political and nationalistic controversies amongst the Balkan nations at this tourney. Heard about some but I did not realize that an Albanian player literally chanted "**** Macedonia" and "**** Serbia" into a megaphone post-game.

Anyway, I agree with the author. There's not a whole lot UEFA can do about it. They have no chance at combatting the history between these countries and it's something we'll likely see more of, not less of.

Paint drying would be more exciting than ITA v CRO. Croatia is just so slow afoot and Italy doesn't have it in their DNA to attack.

Really nice save by the Croatia goalie on that free header but yeah...snooze fest. Italy is Italying Croatia's offense to death.

The Scotland/Hungary game was a lot worse until the last 10 minutes of the game when both finally started pushing for the goal that they needed.

If this holds Italy finishes on 3 points and a -1 GD. They cannot afford to give up a second here. Yes they need a tie but they cannot afford the second goal either.

One goal by itself wouldn't change anything but it would create a situation where another Albania goal would eliminate Italy.

-2 doesn't really hurt them anymore than -1 does it? They'd still be ahead of Hungary. They would be at risk if Slovenia draws/wins or Czech Republic wins but that's the case at -2 or -1.

Not officially but probably. Slovenia would have to lose by 3 goals, Czech Republic would have to lose to Turkey, and Georgia would have to lose to Portugal.
