My biggest takeaway from this Euros is that there are 2 elite teams in Europe and then a bunch of teams that are way behind. Maybe Portugal makes it 3 or I guess at worst there in a tier by themselves between Spain/Germany and everybody else but I'm still not sold on them.

...they'll have some good players, but that golden generation has already seen the Hazards and others pass by and now KDB is aging up there.
De Bruyne will be 35 during the next WC. Lukaku 33. I doubt either will be on the team. Belgium has some talent behind them though. Openda, Doku, Bakayako...all should be better in 2 years and they are all very good right now. Might do Belgium some good to be past this Golden Generation.
France and England are showing why you don't leave national team managers in charge for more than 2 cycles. Both those teams are playing at about 20% of what their talent level is. You have to bring in new national team managers with new ideas as the generations turn
there are so many quality players up and down Portugal and France's best 11 in addition to Spain and Germany. Even some squads like The Netherlands, who didn't even make it to the round of 16, has a bunch of quality. It just goes to show you that some of these smaller baltic states, with less quality but with counters and different playing styles, and with effort and luck, can compete and even beat some of the best sometimes.Dre_00 said:
