With as much talent as France has, collectively as a team, there's just been something off about them all tournament. Maybe it was Mbappe's injury. Spain on the other hand collectively just look better than the sum of the parts. Gotta give De La Fuente a lot of credit.

Gotta wonder if Deschamps is done. Zizou next?

I think he's improved significantly since he first went to Chelsea and was so bad, he couldn't get a game. But I agree that he's one of the weaker links in the Spain defense.

I think Deschamps failed to adapt.

There were some key losses this year that have contributed greatly in the past… Pogba's ban and the decline of an aging Giroud represent key losses in how France's offense clicked. In a counter/tempo situation, Pogba could place a long pass to a speedy Mbappe. Or when trying to break down a defense, Giroud was an excellent target. Both were missed, and Deschamp failed to adapt.

I know the English and they were sitting there enjoying their pints and the dutch just started throwing **** at them.

Personally I was rooting for him to miss. He got his shot off and the contact was on the follow through. That didn't deserve a penalty to me. He had his shot and missed.

Kinda disgraceful that a "star" can flop around for 5 minutes until a review is initiated and suddenly he's well enough to take a penalty. That's soccer, I guess.
