Huge win for Spain. These two teams were playing the best football in the tournament so far, imo. This worthy of a semi final or final game for sure.

FIrst I have no dog in this fight.

I can handle this call being missed by the field referee. They have been missing stuff like this for as long as the sports been played. Fair enough. That's why we have VFR. How does VFR not correct this call? And if they are not then why have it? All it does is bring their legitimacy in to question.

And if the answer is 'thats not a handball' then I don't know anymore what a handball is. Twice this week I have seen closer calls called handballs with no real complaint.

Spain is my "other than the US" team. And on that handball play, my initial reaction was "oh chit, handball." Surprised it wasn't reviewed.

In porto for the game. Watched the Germany - Spain game in a bar and then walked over to a plaza to see the scene for the Portugal game. Walked up right as they were singing the French national anthem and then Portuguese anthem was belted by the crowd.

Had kids with us so we hung out kn the periphery. But was a pretty cool experience.
