I like Kemp as well. Unfortunately he was out of options and Straw is an upgrade over him.

package Correa and Tucker in a deal for a starting pitcher.
Better than letting Kemp walk, but this doesn't move the needle for me, unless this is setting up for another deal.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:
good luck Tony. welcome back martin Maldonado

My needle wants two bullpen arms. Not too worried about starters. Well, maybe a little about JV being able to keep up this production in the post season. He looked tired last year and father time is generally not kind. Peacock coming back will help. He can eat up innings when Urquidy only goes 4 and a third.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:my needle wants a starter and a bullpen arm.Milwaukees Best Light said:Better than letting Kemp walk, but this doesn't move the needle for me, unless this is setting up for another deal.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:

Still think Tucker is a dud. Move him for quality pitching before he is totally exposed.
When we win the WS this year, we'll hear all about getting Greinke with seconds left and the fax machine dialing.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:

No way we keep Cole now. At least I don't think so. He's getting $19 MM now. He's only 28 and his agent is Scott Boras
On that note, who's going to Gallery Furniture now?
You might have missed Derek Fisher for two relievers from Toronto. Both righties though, which still leaves the entire bullpen without a southpaw.randy828 said:We gave them buk ake? Take that in the face.jetch17 said:

Bad ass line up..maybe won't need middle relievers

Because of the salary component, Astros owner Jim Crane was a driving force behind the Greinke trade. General manager Jeff Luhnow said the Astros didn't even contact the Diamondbacks until really the last 48 hours before the deadline.
"It was Jim's collaboration and desire to see another championship in Houston that motivated us to get in touch with Arizona," Luhnow said. "There are a lot of details to work through when you're going through a deal like this, but we couldn't do it without the full support of Jim and our ownership group, and he was there for us and supportive."
