Has anyone been to Slick City? It's down by The Woodlands. It's a huge indoor slide park. It would be great in the Macy's space.

I've seen a few things about this but haven't gotten around to posting.

Gameday Suites Aggieland is planned for Villa Maria and Jones (near 47). From my understanding, it will be a place you can host tailgates and events, but not stay in or live in as there are not bedrooms.

I think I saw a sponsored post for those.

I don't understand the concept. If you have money for that, I would think you'd have money to be at the game.

But I'm sure people smarter than me have determined there's a demand.

Edit: The three sponsored posts had a total of one comment not by the OP.

I *think* the idea is that you host your tailgate there rather than outside Kyle. They will have shuttles to bring people back and forth to Kyle before and after the game. It will be interesting to see the demand. I would think if paying that much to host people for a tailgate you would at least want to be able to stay there for the weekend rather than pay separately.

I think these are going to be primarily used by corporate suite owners and such. The kind of people who don't want to sweat at a game.

These are multi-purpose and you can use it any time you want for anything you want other than running actual retail business out of it. You can stay in it over the weekend, but it can't be your primary residence due to zoning. A lot of the mock-ups from the finish out builders include Murphy beds, and they're in the same vein as T11 at COTA or Garages of America if you know about those. This is aimed at folks that want a suite but have been standing in priority point lines forever, or as someone mentioned before, corporate space for client hosting. Could even be a man cave/personal car shop if you're local. The buyer can build it out however they please. Will be operated much like a suite in the sense that you call ahead in the week with number of guests and food/booze request, then it's all set up for you, taken down and cleaned, courtesy of Global.

Also, as mentioned, there will be a shuttle running on game days for about a six hour window that will drop off/pick up at the campus hotel.

I'm sure there are probably some future developments in the works for hotels around/close to that tailgating venue as well.

And would be more grown out if Brett Giroir had been able to stick around.

What about baseball games, graduations, parents weekend, ring days?

I assume it would not be open just for football.

Sounds an awful lot like the project that was supposed to replace Cafe Eccell back in 2005 right down to the name and premise. Wouldn't have worked then and wouldn't work now.

Was wondering what was going to go there. Guess this area is becoming the RV park place (Great Escapes plus RV parks on Jones Rd.)

I personally think they would've worked and were a neat idea. We just couldn't come to a deal and we were in their way lol. They wanted us to pay for a whole new restaurant when we already had a paid for restaurant.

Quote:

The first padel club in the Bryan-College Station area officially opened its doors July 24 and welcomed the public with three courts available during a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening.

The business describes the sport as "built for connection" and something that can be picked up and played. Co-owner Marcel Muscouf said on 4Padel's Instagram there is a lot of fun to be had.

"We remain committed to elevating the sport in our region, building true community, supporting those who can make a difference and creating unforgettable moments," he said.

During its first month of business, the club is offering free classes for groups of five along with league game nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The club also sells beer and is open until midnight, so those who want longer games won't have to worry about leaving early.

Per KBTX's 10PM newscast.

The supposed HEB store on Boonville is not happening. HEB has no plans for a new store in B/CS anytime soon. KBTX said they don't have a reason for the change. We'll see if they follow up and get an answer.

Portillo's is not coming due to new management's change in priorities.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill
