I went back to Proudspire Manor just to see what was going on and my wife and kids were there along with my thane (which, by the way, I'm confused as to why my thane wasn't there when my wife was being killed by the bear. She should have been protecting the house.) Hror apparently picked up a baby mud crab as a pet and somehow that mudcrab is able to burrow itself into a stone floor when it sleeps. Impressive.
Anyway, I've moved them to my country manor and all is well. Now, if only I can remember my wife's name going forward...I know it starts with an "S"...

so pissed..apparently won't be able to deat dragonborn due to a stupid glitch where I can't pick up the quest path of knowledge...so I have a lvl 50 dude who i'm just going to beat like 2 more achievements with and then start a new playthrough...maybe with a punchcat
If you are on PC you can use console commands to get past a glitch.

I may pick this back up tonight and see what I have left to do. Haven't played since my last post on this thread. I think I've about completed everything in the main game.
Started a new character a few nights ago. My other character had become such a bad ass that I had forgotten how tough the game can be in the early levels.
I was trying to get to Riften to get started on the Thieves Guild questline and came across three black trolls in the middle of the woods. I didn't have a follower at the time so it was all me (Khajiit built for stealth, archery and light armor).
Needless to say I was dominated. Thankfully I had an auto save not far from there, was able to regroup, and came back with Lydia. I won that round, but ran into a spriggan less than 200 yards away that was possessing two sabercats and a wolf. Talk about a bad day to go exploring in the woods.

I'm going through the same thing now - I just restarted Fallout 3. Got dominated by some Super Mutants this morning.

Just got into this game and had my first HOLY **** moment. So I'm walking around in the mountains and suddenly the music changes and a large shadow passes over. I get pumped because this would be my first open world dragon. So I start to move around a large boulder to see where the big guy went and what do I find? A dragon flying in the distance and a big ass bear. on fire. A foot in front of me. Needless to say I ran like hell. My level 14 dude isn't ready to fight dragons and bears(on fire). This game rocks.
It's kind of nice being able to walk up to a giant's camp in broad daylight and slaughter two giants and a few mammoths without any particular strategy or worry. Does take some of the suspense out though, pretty much the only thing that can bother me is an Ancient Dragon.

I have a different character for each of the major quest lines. One guy ~ lvl 50 that I beat the game with and probably 4-5 characters lvl 20-25. That way I got to experience a lot of different play styles.
Just the two characters. Funny thing is my first was probably more versatile than my second one is going because now I know what specific things I want to level up.
Built a new comp last night with the new haswell i7, a gtx770... Downloading the high resolution pack and looking forward to some skyrim once the kids and wife are in bed *drool
I'm new to Skyrim (yes I know it's been out a while)...and I absolutely LOVE IT. Can anyone explain which is better to use when enchanting, Black Soul Gem or Grand Soul Gem. I'm having trouble deciding what to do with Azura's Star (who to take it to).
So...just loaded up Skyrim on the new rig.
Dramatic difference between the two machines. I even loaded up some of the high def texture packs on steam and it's still running smoothly on ultra settings.
Now to play a true nord rather than my high elf wizard like last time. I didn't know much about the game going in and the entire time I was slaughtering high elves for the rebellion, I felt a little...odd.

The difference between Skyrim on Consoles vs. on a beefy PC is so wide as to be almost different games.
Modders have made high-res textures.... OF ROCKS. Let that sink in.
That said, I sunk 200 hours into that damn mudda and I'll be damned if I get sucked into it again.

The Black Soul Gem is better. You can fill it with souls of people. Now guards can be useful.

My new pc is already spec'ed out to be better than the next gen of consoles. I'll be good for a while.
