SPOILER?:

When I joined the stormcloaks, it asked me to travel to the serpent stone way the hell north on the outter rim of the map and slay an ice wraith. Quickest and easiest quest ever cause I had already done that in my random wanderings and travels.

Most def, I joined the Stormcloaks last night and immediately after the first little "prove yourself" mission, a "JOIN THE LEGION: FAILED" message popped up. Join the Legion = Imperial Mission.

So one of the early Stormcloak missions is to storm Whiterun. It's pretty sweet, but I was worried my pimped out Breezehome and all my trading contacts in Whiterun would be lost by doing this, along with any future quests that the Jarl of Whiterun (Blarglarf or some ish) might give me. Well, we storm the city and make it inside the castle, where eventually the Jarl surrenders.

A new guy takes over and the ousted Jarl says something along the lines of "give me a few hours to grab my things, and I'll be out of here." I'm interested in following him to see if he goes to some random outpost on the World Map to call his home, so I can find him and his Wizard guy later in the game. I follow him up into the Jarl's quarters, and he eventually goes to this room, where he and other "key" members of Whiterun have apparently decided to call home:



I waited for about 24 hours to see if they'd leave, and they just moved to another corner of the room. Not sure if this is permanent, but for now, I'm calling this the Corner of Defeat. The Wizard still trades with you, so that's really all that matters.

Long Story Short, apparently when you overtake a city, the ousted government sets up shop in a corner.

What went into your decisions?

Alphabetical order. I joined the Imperials this time. I'll be a Stormcloack the second time through.

I just thought being involved in a coup on an Empire sounded more fun than defending it against rebels. Plus apparently the Empire is just a puppet government for the Elves or something, so F them.

Update to the above (SPOILER) post: The Whiterun Wizard (I always forget his name) is still in Whiterun, but the Jarl and his aides are gone. However, there is a new "squire" that you can talk to about furnishing your house, etc.

It's even better to just take out the Emporer yourself.

I'm going to choose the Empire, personally. I still think that even if their is heavy elven influence within the empire, that working with the established resources of the empire would be more effective against the Altmeri Dominion. I feel like a single entity which includes the Nords is in the best position against the Altmeri. I know that I'm stretching the roleplaying a little too far.

Basically, I'm motivated by anti-pro-elf (Altmeri) sentiments and maintaining the strength of the empire potentially puts the most power in non-altmeri hands.

Also, a lot of nords don't want to be liberated from the empire.

Again, stupid question. Where is the give equipment page? I've just been dropping stuff on the floor and telling her to pick it up. I never got a "Your Companion and You" manual that explained this stuff. I'm playing on PC btw.

I haven't made a decision yet on Imperials/Rebellion. I'll go back to these quests later.

I'm still on my "explore the world" phase of the game. Seen maybe 1/4 of the places. I love that you can examine maps in greathalls or wherever and "use" the markers on the map to add them to your map. Makes knowing what's up ahead easier.

Just kill her and loot the corpse

Found a handy way to kill dragons. If there's an open building nearby, just wait for the dragon to land within your view through the door then unleash a hoard of arrows while avoiding the fire/ice.

well my heatsink died coupla days ago and I promptly ordered another. A LOOOOONG coupla days. Got the new one and my jebus it is so much better than the stock one I had. Previoulsy maxing out around 70-75 Celsius and it sounded like a jet turbine. Can't hear the new one and it's maxed out at around 41-42 Celsius. Best $25 I spent yet on this rig.

or more like "they found me after I impersonated a member of the dark brotherhood for killing the leader of an orphanage for a 10 year old kid and took their rightful reward, kidnapped me, and then instructed me to kill people for not good reason".

Also, I fell asleep in a bed and

I'm about 7-8 hours in and already hooked. I'm playing a Khajiit (sp?) stealth mage that is just kicking absolute trash. I love that I can, on a whim, decide to switch it up to a bruiser. Although I'll be slightly underpowered for a time, it's still viable.

Probably my favorite part thus far was a small little side quest. Some red guards came looking for a woman, who I talked to and convinced that I would help her escape. I brought her to the stables where the red guard was waiting for her. After collecting her bounty, I killed the red guard and got ~100 gold, then killed her and got ~300 gold in jewels. I felt like such a villain.

^Just like a dirty Khajit. :P

OK, so I'm fighting Alduin, and he's slaughtering me. I keep casting Dragonrend on him to bring him to the ground and keep him there, but then I can't do any damage. My glass axe, conjured bow, conjurations, and destruction magic don't seem to be doing anything to his health. I'm guessing I'm missing something, but seriously, nothing I do will hurt that jackass. I even tried reading the Elder Scroll right up on his face, but nothing...anyone else fought him yet?

so for those who have been playing on the 360 - how is it going? still a beautiful game? much lag in high-action sequences? does the controller suit this game well?

i don't have the money for a new desktop and my laptop is on its last legs, i'm just keeping it up through graduation right now

loving this game so far. playing a nord two-hander wielding badass with an unhealthy addiction for smithing.

It's like the part of me that thinks about Skyrim all day while I'm working left my body, created a username, and posted about my character.

Dual pickax mining is where it's at.

Putting a much bigger emphasis on archery and it's gone from a ranged weapon to useable almost any situation. Keep finding better and better bows too so this is going to be beastly near the end.

Also... I hate this game. I keep playing to the point that I'm falling asleep during loading screens.

So far my roomie has it on xbox and and has had little problems with it. The only times it has lagged on him is when hes put about 10 hrs straight on it and its super hot. turn off, quick cooldown and back to playing no problem. Need to mention that it is a newer 360 however. The older ones I imagine heat up faster.

On a side note is anyone getting random CTDs? I got my fourth since i've owned it last night right in the middle of a dragon fight and I was all butthurt and stopped for the night.
