New DLC details released today. You'll get to play house with wife, kids, the whole bit.

In fact that's about all you'll get. 400 points for the ability to purchase land, build a house, and "live" in it.

I purchased this a while back and it never worked. A courier is supposed to approach you with a letter that initiates the quest upon reading it but I was never approached.

I guess I'll remain single without kids...WHICH IS AWESOME.

You can still get married, just no kids... Go talk to the priest at the Temple of Mara in riften about marraige. Then you have to wear the amulet of Mara when you talk to certain NPCs in Skyrim and you can get married.

You Bet: Are you sure you don't have a letter in your inventory from one of the Jarls? It is a quest to talk to a Jarl which leads to the ability to buy property.

Yes, I searched my Books inventory after reading online that I was supposed to have been approached but I don't have one.

Do you have the game on PC or 360?

If 360, have you installed the latest patch?

If PC, you should be able to use the console to generate the letter.

360. I would assume that I have the latest patch if it's auto downloading when you boot up 360 or the game like any other patch.

Or, do I need to manually download the patch?

Anybody play Dragonborn yet? I just got it... and promptly became re-addicted to Skyrim

I tried Skyrim last year and got kinda bored with it. I think it was the simplicity of the melee system that I got bored with (run around and click and block now & then). Decided to try it again because I felt the urge and enjoying a mage type this time around.

I also got some mods from the steam workshop (PC) that help so so much with some of the annoyances of the game. Much better UI (Sky I think it is), a nice mod that makes unread books glow a bit, and of course it is AMAZING in Nvidia 3D with the Heliox mods.

Should I finish the original before DLC? Or better to get it from the start? I haven't even looked at the DLC since I am only like lvl 6 or so right now.

Well I think Dragonborn is only out for xbox right now, but you can get Dawnguard on PC. And I don't really see a downside to getting the DLC now. You don't have to engage in the new quests until you want and there are a bunch of new items to use.

Stupid question: does Xbox version have the capacity for user created DLC or would the publisher ever consider porting over user created DLC from PC version?

Skyrim is my first foray into an epic class game that historically I would have played on PC and I'm missing the tweaks you can get from user DLC.

Yet another reason why PC is far superior to console. I love browsing the steam workshop for mods and thinking,"wow...that one sounds cool!" *click*, and now I have it.

And to the above poster who does not like games that are supposed to be more realistic...try playing as an archer/sneak assassin type. I freaking love my archer much more than any other class.

The fact is Skyrim IS NOT an action game like god of war or any other game of that type and those of us who are fans DO NOT want a combo system with our guy jumping around doing unrealistic moves.

Granted, I kind of do wish they implemented a little more of what they did in Morrowind where different attacks did more damage than others. Where, let's say, a horizontal swipe does different damage than a jab or a downward slash. Hell...there may be a mod for that, I just haven't looked yet.

Played and beat the game on PS3 and now wish I had bough it on XBOX or PC. Thinking about picking it up when I get a chance. Thoughts?

Agreed but I'm to the point where I barely use a PC anymore and I couldn't justify spending the cash to upgrade my old one just to play about one big game per year like this.

Between iPad and Xbox, I only have one use for my PC at home these days and that is to run Quicken so I can pay bills and track our financial picture.

I haven't even finished the main quest yet but have done the Dawnguard DLC. Waiting for Dragonborn for PC!

I just bought the game for PC. Does Dragonborn cost $$ or is it an "upgrade"?

It will cost money, but not out for PC yet.

Never could get into this game.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've started about 7 or 8 playthoughs.

I never can do everything I want right.

I've completed most of the major storylines (main quest, thieves guild, mages college, civil war, dark brotherhood*) but all of them on different characters. I think one of my guys is level 46 and the rest are in the 25-35 range.

* - didn't finish that one actually but I know how it ends cause I saw a roommate do it

Every single time I get to the point that it looks like I'll have a character I can beat everything with I realize I ****ed up somehow in point allocation, or I'll get tired of that style of play, or something will glitch.

I messed up and bought this game. Can't remember the last time I went to sleep at a reasonable time, and I just keep finding more stuff to do in this game.

Traded skyrim in last August for $9. Horrible mistake as now that's all I want to play.

Ended up trading Halo 4 for skyrim with a buddy today. Looking forward to getting back.

just got skyrim not too long ago.....man....this game is friekin amazing.....

i started playing just as a random character that was mainly a brawler, until i realized i wanted to be a mage and only use magic as a weapon, so i started over....

currently level 16....and im mainly just running around trying to find as many quests that i can....i complete a few here and there when i get tired of exploring

love this game!

i have to say the quest "a night to remember" as been the funniest one ive came across so far....and i still haven't completed it yet as the underground area with nothing but wizards is still too tough for me to beat at this point....

As a PS3 owner, I'm just glad Dawnguard will be out this month. Ridiculous that we had to wait this long. Excited for this one and Dragonborn!

Yep, I have wasted many an hour clearing crypts and caves in Skyrim. I can't wait to play the Dragonborn DLC. I'll probably start a brand new character for it though.

So far, my favorite class type to play is a sneaky archer. Just all sorts of fun, and nothing is as satisfying as sneak attacking a bandit off a bridge from 200 yards away.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I can pretty much walk through any random quest now without having to worry about dying, so I've gone back to the main quest line. Just beat Alduin. I switch between archery (level 100 + level 95 sneak)) and one-handed (level 100), plus occasional use of spells.
