I've been doing so many sidequests I don't even know what the main quest is about anymore. Is it the dragon one or the imperial/stormcloak one?

Holy cow, this is the first time on this thread that I feel like I've accomplished more than someone else!

Cbunn - how is that possible? How did you avoid killing the dragon in the very first opening scene?

Also, it seems like anytime I take a long walk from one destination to another, a dragon swoops in for a fight. Not for you??

My second character is low teens, and I haven't killed a dragon either. I reported to the jarl that riverun was in danger, was directed to go to bleak falls barrow to get a dragonstone, but I haven't done it yet.

Dragons don't appear in the wild until you bring the stone back, and fight the dragon that attacks the outskirts of white run.

that's crazy. if i do a replay i think i'll advance the story up through getting Fus Ro Dah just so i dragons show up frequently and i can get more Thu'ums, cause i use them all the time in combat

It's not quite as easy as just hitting A to chop wood but an easy way to make money is to make tons of iron daggers and then enchanted them. You can sell them for around 700 each and make a huge profit. I got over 100K doing this

I forgot about the very first scene when I'm breaking out, but other than that I've never seen a dragon! It's crazy. I walk every where and I've never seen one. I've killed trolls, giants and all kind of bandits but never a dragon. I think when I play later I will go kill the dragon to help whiterun so I can do my shouts.

There is a tomb somewhere with skeletons and one of them has a book and after you kill him you can get the book over and over. Get as many as you can and then fast travel somewhere to sell them. Then you can fast travel back and get more books.

I'm not sure where it is, but there is video on YouTube.

Apparently you can get the house in whiterun for free? So many YouTube videos lol.

You have to kill the white run dragon before you start getting the random dragon appearances.

finished the main Companions line today (pretty sure anyway, now it's just random "go here and kill monsters" quests from Aela). without giving away any spoilers, i legitimately felt angry and wanted revenge when that *****went down. great story telling

QUESTION WITH POTENTIAL SPOILER FROM A MEASLEY LEVEL 20 LIGHTWEIGHT:

In the quest where you end up standing in front of an alter with a priest in a cage and the deity tells you to kill the priest in exchange for the maagical mace - what happens if you refuse to kill the priest?

I went ahead and killed the dude, but felt bad about it because he was begging for mercy and the deity was cackling and egging me on and obviously evil.

In exchange, he gave me the magical mace, which is pretty badass, but I had something happen on a later quest which made me realize that I probably could have refused him and got something better.

It was on the quest with the damn talking dog - at the end, a similar cackling evil deity wanted me to kill the poor dog in exchange for a magic axe. I said no way and ended up getting a much-better helmet that gave me enhanced haggling powers.

So, just wondering - if I had done the "right thing" and not killed the poor priest, what would have happened instead of getting the mace?

Also, another non-spoiler question:

Anyone ellse find themselves humming the SONGS from this game at random times in your real life? Like when in the grocery store, or sitting at a restaurant with your wife??
Kampfers

Potential spoilers:

AgKJ: No, you have to kill him to receive the mace. Unlike the quest with the dog (where by not killing the dog, you get the daedric artifact, in this quest you have to kill the priest.
AgKJ
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Thanks, Kampfers. But what if I HADN'T killed him? I'm wondering what the "door prize" would have been, since the door prize in the dog quest was sweeter.
Texas_Aggie91
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm pretty sure there isn't a door prize for that one. I think the quest stays open until you kill him or he will just be trapped in there until you do
Predmid
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Nothing. He just waits on you and you keep the crappy mace.

Just finished the quest where you pass out in Riften and wake up across the map.

Pretty hilarious quest. Felt like a Skyrim version of The Hangover.

Yes, when I first brought up the map to see where I was, I thought the game had glitched or something. Found myself wondering all the standard drunk questions like "dude, how'd I GET here?" and "what the hell happened??".

Felt like a big sloppy drunk having to help the hot priestess chick pick up all the stuff I had knocked over in her temple during my drunk rant. Knowing me, I bet I went off on A&M football during it, too.

Not proud of myself at all........

I have just started Skyrim but my downfall with RPGs is constantly starting over.

I want to play a warrior and here are my questions: Light or Heavy armor, Dual or Sword & Board, Orc or Nord?

Started as a Orc, Dual weild with Heavy, and i am thinking about switching to a Nord, SnS with Light.
OleDublinBobcat
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fleff, don't overthink this one, you can shift around mid-game if you want. I started as a berserker with one-handed weapons, heavy armor, and a big ass shield, and now I play a bowhunting assassin and kill 99% of people without them knowing I'm there.

It's flexible to the whims of the player.
Predmid
How long do you want to ignore this user?
if you're going to use armor and spend perks on them, I'd go heavy. the perks negate the disadvantages of heavy armor.

and if you're going to restart, go nord, it makes the story more compatible with the events going on.

Anyone see the YouTube video of the Viking that only uses his bare fists in the game? He killed the first dragon pretty handily (pun intended). I'm on my mobile or I would post the video.

Yep, seen it. Here is the video. I found this really funny and sort of sad that I did! Lots of language:

Skyrim - Unarmed Badass Viking Commentary

ROFL @ 5:45... the video is 8 min long so if you get bored a few mintues in at least watch that part.

He's got a bunch of vids on his you tube channel that I haven't watched, but I assume it's more of the same.

that hangover quest was really fun, and the ending made me laugh. i haven't really use the sanguin rose though.

if we're talking daedric artifacts, i freakin love the Wabbajack. i've been using it to fight dragons
Predmid
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I used the sanguine rose a lot in tough battles at lower levels.

Now that I can summon two at once, I have no need for it.

Sucks about the delete. I probably wouldn't play the game for a long time now.

I finally went and killed the first dragon. Now I am seeing those suckers everywhere.
