The leveling system is such an improvement over morrowind and oblivion. I love not having to worry about sneaking behind a horse or jumping everywhere to make sure that I get 5 agility in a level. The perks really seem to let you customize your guy in a way that both oblivion and morrowind lacked. I'm digging the story so far and the environment is just completely badass.

Bwahahahha @ that comic. I helped kill that one giant when I first got to whiterun.... Thought it would be no big deal if I picked a fight with the two hanging out by that bonefire. The comic was right LOL!!!!!

I've only run into three things that pretty much instakill me, the giants, the steam centurion in the dwemer dungeon, and a frost troll on my way up the giant mountain for the main questline.

I'll admit, I abandoned my servant to take him on while I high tailed it to Hrothgar.

Loving it. A bow-wielding bard by day, thief by night. Yeah buddy.

Anyways, quick question. When I'm scrolling through the item list of a vendor, what is the little triangle to the right of the quantity? I only see it on some items?

How's it look and play on the 360?

It looks better on the PC, but it actually looks and runs fairly smooth on Xbox. Plus, it really does feel like an Xbox game first that's ported over to the PC. Most of the controls for the PC are fine, but you can especially tell with the map that it's a port.

I think it means the item is an upgrade from what you have equipped.

They nailed the immersion on this one for sure.

I dropped some armor on the ground because I was overencumbered. Went to town to sell some things. When I came back, someone asked me if they could have the armor I dropped on the ground. I told him no, and he said I better pick it up before someone snatches it.

If you have some magic out i've been told (with fire) be careful with that fire and (with lightning) to cast my fancy magic somewhere else. Lol.

Is it worth getting on PS3?..no way in hell my lappy could handle it.

That one cost me about a dozen minor healing pots, but I killed him.

After a reload from when he 2 shotted me.

Just went on the companion quest to retrieve the fragment. Wow. Never saw it coming.

He was the first true enemy I came across. I stuck an arrow into his face, saw how little damage it did, screamed, ran, then led to an epic 10 minute chase. Those things are RELENTLESS. Finally got away. Coupla NPC's were smeared however when they got in his way. better them than me...

I encounted him as well, wow....

Saw a mammoth and thought, hey, I need to kill one of those two help that lady back in Whiterun....death immediately ensued.

The game plays great on 360 and I've only heard good things about the ps3 version also. No doubt a high end PC is better, but hardly noticeable once you get drawn into the game. If you have a console and have an interest definitely get this game!!!!

this game consumed my weekend. hopefully i got most of it out of my system, but i fear its only the beginning

On my way to the graybeard, and right when about to ascent the mountain, I've got a random dragon spawn. He keeps whooping my butt.

First few go rounds it was a fire dragon, but last time was a frost dragon.

I need to think up some good strategies, but dang, having trouble.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was referring to the big reveal you get from your shield brother on the fragment retrieval quest for the Companions.

I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but it's pretty surprising, and cool.

Just picked this up today for PC, and wow, I'm having a blast so far. I never really got into Oblivion before, but so far Skyrim definitely has not disappointed.

The game looks great on Ultra High. I was worried my GTX 570 SC might not be able to handle it, but it runs the game quite smoothly.

I LOLD so hard at that bear

I am a little over 8 hours in and just left whiterun for the greybeards... Meaning I spent plenty of time in that area leveling up exploring caves and clearing out bandit locations. On my way to the greybeards and starting to die a lot!! Thought I had leveled up quit a bit but apparently not enough. Found a place called darkwater pass and that didn't last long. After dying multiple times I settled for killing a few guys and then I gracefully got the freak out of there... Then one of those big tigers killed me when when I got back outside.

Not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I always attack them from the side, or a little bit behind that. It's been pretty effective so far.

Also, the fire-breathing shout is awesome.

Does Skyrim still have the enchant thing? Walking around with over 100% chameleon was a bit cheaty in Oblivion, but it was quite fun to go anywhere I wanted.

Yeah, they're tables in various places now. You disenchant an item to learn its enchant to use in the future.

I definitely like the fact that you can recharge your magical weapons on the fly.

i wish i had the time (and the money) to play this...but i have neither. loved both oblivion and fallout

question - i probably logged 30 or 40 hours in oblivion before i even met that dude at the stables to start the main quest. is that still possible in skyrim? like is there a ton of stuff similar to dark brotherhood/thieves guild/etc?

yes, you can play the entire game without doing the main quest line. I've just met the Dark Brotherhood, had a run in with the Thieves Guild, and have joined the Companions (Fighters Guild). Still haven't met the College of Magic.

You have to get to a certain point to actually start fighting dragons, if you just escape the intro sequence and start exploring, dragons wont show up.

This game is probably the coolest and most addicting game I've ever played in my life...ever. I'm a Level 30 Imperial Necromancer and just talked to the Greybeards. As soon as I left Whiterun, I went straight to the College of Magic.










*****************SPOILER ALERT!!*****************

The College of Magic quest was EPIC and took a long ass time to finish. You have to explore about 4 or 5 decent size dungeons, and they're all sparsely located across the map for the most part. You end up fighting a really tough dead wizard guy who can kill you in two hits. It was so hard, I just hid in a hallway, shot firebolts at him, then ran away until he forgot about me and came back to repeat the process. That took forever.

Once you're done with it though, you get some COOL ASS SH*T. A mask and a robe that give you 100% magicka regen each, a staff that drains magicka and health from the enemy, and you're given a very respectable position within the College itself. You also unlock some awesome spell tome's you can buy from the magic vendors in the College.
