How am I not getting tons of pimp limp memes for Grogu today? I felt like it was much more exaggerated in this finale as he stepped up to use the force.

To be clear, it's not because I wanted to see Luke join the fight. I understand and agree with keeping him out of it.

Honestly I'd have preferred him arriving afterwards and handing him off to Mando.
I understand, I was talking about 2 or 3 different things.

Feels like they're keeping Boba Fett and Luke intentionally away from one another, possible for some epic team up at the end of all these stories.

Someone mentioned this earlier on in the thread, but this episode (and most of the show) felt like a Sci-Fi level show.
Now, that is not a bad thing in and of itself, I enjoy those shows. I loved Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and many other shows. I also go into those shows expecting that kind of show. Even Hercules and Xena level.

It's possible this show was just a victim of the quality standard the Mandalorian set, except most of the important people responsible for the Mandalorian were in the same roles for Book of Boba Fett. So I dont think its unreasonable to expect that same quality, and be disappointed when you don't get it.

Thats why I think I may be wrong in solely putting this on Robert Rodriguez, but it's hard not to blame him.

I'll be honest. I wanted to see Luke show up and kill off Boba Fett for good.

RR should not direct anymore Star Wars episodes of any kind.

So those giant droids are super slow. But some how that one keeps up with Mando on the taxi. OK

Two pig guys get taken out fast bc they were dumb enough to be isolated next to a cliff. NO ONE else is killed. Really

Fett gets the Mancor but not his ship. And as another mentioned. He got that Mancor fast.

I will beat the dead horse, Vespa gang, yikes again. And that 360. I'm not sure I have ever seen anything sillier.

Fav part of the entire show was Grogu tapping the glass and zoom!

Could go on but, not worth it.

I don't like you assigning gender pronouns to the Rancor. Let it choose how it wants to self-identify.

I actually liked how the buildings and walls were damaged by blaster shots - which I don't think we've really seen before.

Obviously, they don't want to show the burning hole it leaves in bodies for ratings and such and I'm ok with that, but glad they finally showed they damage things.

Last episode was fine. Not as good as the previous 2. But, it was a solid 7 of 10.

Some of you have too much time on your hands... lol.

I told my wife that somebody needs to get the name of the contractor who built that wall where they "dug in" because that thing took some serious punishment

YEp, the wall had blaster marks immediately and then held for like half an hour after that.

So...thoughts...

- That wasn't great but definitely RR's best episode. I don't understand how the guy can do such killer action sequences on some projects and then...this. The spinning vespa gang guy looked like a Desperado shot at the wrong angle that wasn't Antonio Banderas.

- Grogu showing up was epic.

- Why are the bikes so sloooooooooooooow? Peli's pedicab would've dusted those things.

- I did enjoy Fennec's little stealth mission to take out the mayor and the Pyke leadership.

- Boba riding a Rancor...I mean, we all saw it coming but you gotta love it. Loved the nods to Kong in there as well.

- The end reveal with Cobb was nice.

- Loved Krssantan coming back but would've liked to see more badassery from him.

- While the battle strategy as a whole left a lot to be desired, seeing Boba and Mando taking on a garrison of Pykes from jetpacks was pretty great.

- Think jeffk mentioned, but really liked that no one "saved" Boba from Cad Bane.

Overall this series was what it was, a holdover to get us to Mando s3.

My take: it should've been a straight Western. Have Boba be the new sheriff in town who has to step up to defend it from this incoming spice trade, bring in Cad Bane as the main villain way earlier, bring in Cobb Vanth and Mando at some point (the brief Cobb Vanth storyline was my high point of this series), and point everything to a standoff at the end where the townspeople defend the town all driving towards the Cad Bane v Boba Fett (or Mando) duel.

One issue I have is that it completely resolved the Grogu story of getting back to Mando. I guess I expected there would be a bit more there to explore in Mando S3. Then again, it might keep the season more focused and concise. I'll be curious to see where they take it.

An idea I had was that this would have been better if this was more like an anthology series. Like the MCU movies where Boba is Nick Fury is assembling the Avengers.
Each episode is standalone, but Boba shows up at the end to recruit them.
A Speeder Bike Body Mod gang episode
A Mandalorian episode
Fennec episode
Krrsantan episode
Flashback Boba Tuscan Raiders episode
Freetown episode
Ending episode or two where the team is assembled.

This is a massive issue to me. They made this show required viewing for a different show.

If people were into the Mandalorian, but weren't really feeling this show so they didn't watch, and then tune into the first episode of the next season of The Mandalorian, they're going to be like "wait wtf is happening?"

That's also aside from the fact that without the parts of this show that were basically parts of The Mandalorian, this show wouldn't have been any good. Only good solid episode would have been the Tusken raider one.

Well the last time they saw each other they were super trying to kill each other, I assumed that's why they're keeping the characters apart.

My reaction: "It was great when it wasn't incredibly stupid."

I just couldn't take all the…oh hell let's just call them Rebels for nostalgia…running from the big robots and NOBODY GETS HIT. This is supposed to be a war and we just got introduced to a ton of extras we don't care about…someone go down so there's some weight to this confrontation.

Everyone died in Rogue One and it was awesome! We can handle it Disney. Seriously other than the dang pigs were there any "good guys" in this "war" that bit the dust?

Who told watered-down Milla Jovovich that she could act? Hunny….you can't act….and putting an even more terrible actress next to you doesn't make you better by osmosis.

Those giants robots can blow a massive metal transport ship in two but can't knock down a 12-inch wide wall? Good grief.

Instant karma for me saying to myself after episode 5, "Hey, that Amy Sedaris character actually didnt piss me off this time….maybe she'll be a better character from now on." *half way through episode* "You suck Amy."

I must've said at least 3 times during this episode (not kidding) when that Twi'lek opened his mouth, "Would someone just shoot him!?"

Jeez…….

Alright the good stuff……

Boba and Mando jet packs…wizard.
Mando busting out dark saber…wizard.
Grogu jumping into Mandos arms…wizard.
Cad Bane dialogue with Boba and that whole scene…wizard.
Grogu force stuff…wizard.
Grogu wanting Mando to go vroom vroom…wizard
Everything the Rancor did…blue balls wizard.

So overall……I give it 2.5 out of 4 dead tusken children.

My favorite eye rolls were the successful attempts at "distracting" the droids. Like, why would they be distracted by something that absolutely and very clearly cannot harm them.

Setting up a retcon of the ST with Thrawn is cool, but the issue with me is how do the writers explain Luke staying out of it realistically? I think we have seen limitations with current technology, and although the ending of S2 Mando was one of the coolest things SW has done since Empire, the good grace of the fan base will erode if he's central to the plot with how wooden he looks. And if you don't have him in the story, then people will want to know why.

I just feel like there is so much more you could play with in the universe than the same 60 years. There are literal millenia to play with. The rise and fall of the first Sith empire, the creation of the Republic, The first Mandalorian Jedi would all be relatively new concepts that could shake the rust off the series. Especially with the rise and fall of the Sith Empire. If you could establish a punisher-type anti-hero who uses the dark side, but is likeable, that would be a fresh spin on the force that would be fascinating to watch.

Basically what I'm saying is that I want a Jedi version of Batman or Daredevil.

Given that the end of Rebels suggests Thrawn and Ezra were thrown somewhere out beyond the Outer Rim into the Unknown Regions, it might have nothing to do with Luke's arc.

i think the more likely story is that Ahsoka and whomever she finds out there end up having to work together against some other threat. Like when she and Sabine find Ezra, if he's out there, he and Thrawn are already working together.

Like the episode of Lost where they think they see Jack running from the others until they realize he's actually catching a football.

Agree that in this Starvengers idea that Thrawn ends up on the side of the good guys and its happening so far out in space that it doesn't have anything to do with the other movies.

That was a let down of a finale.

When the best parts of the title character's show are not him...the fails. Boba was less valuable to the season than The Tuscan Raiders, Mando, Grogu, Cad Bane, Cobb Vanth, the Rancor, Luke, Ahsoka, Amy Sedaris, a wookie I didn't know about, a couple of Hutts, even Fennec to an extent.

From the scene at the beginning when Fennec laid out the fight plan exposition for what felt like a full two minutes I knew this was going to be less than optimal.

Boba is a soldier, he's not a leader, that's clear.

Shooting at shields in perpetuity...really?

Multiple bounty hunters cornering themselves at the beginning of a fight?

How far away was the lair? If he can retrieve a slow moving Rancor that quickly why wouldn't they have just all gone there to a fortified position?

The street kids on hover bikes, might have just as well been razor scooters.

This show feels like they figured out in the writers room that the only way to save it was to bring in a team of all stars. And by so they completely undermined any value they were trying to give Boba himself.

I still enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but this feels like a one-off. Boba should have died, Cobb should have taken over and then had Justified in space. Freetown can be renamed Mos-Harlan County, they can swap the Pykes for space Crowders and space Crowes, and we can all move on together. Starring Timothy Olyphant as Ray-gun Givens of course.

This is the main problem. I'm 99% sure there is no writer's room and that Favreau writes all of this solo (both Mando and Boba), after/while consulting with Filoni. Neither are experienced, live-action TV writers, though, and it shows. As I've said before, they obviously both know what makes Star Wars great, and what the fans want. But in between the fan service moments - that in-between being a majority of the show - this just isn't well-written TV. They caught lightning in a bottle with the Mando/Grogu combo, which goes a long way on-screen, but the actual writing, pacing, story-telling, etc really is SyFy level if not worse. Just another reason I'm excited for the next two SW series - Obi-Wan and Andor - because they're written by completely different people/teams. So we finally get to see someone else's episodic take on this franchise for a change.

Not great not terrible.

Thoroughly mediocre. Highly disappointing based on the previous two non-Fett episodes, but in line with the other Fett-centered episodes if not marginally better.

Didn't really do much to redeem the character of Boba Fett IMO, which makes another season of Fett a questionable decision.

Hope RR doesn't get another shot at directing any of these. He's just not very good at it. The writing wasn't good either, but my guess in such an action-packed episode the script matters much less.

Like with most of the Star Wars stuff that doesn't hit, the biggest loss is the missed opportunity. Just wouldn't have been very hard to make it so much better.

I just never truly believed that Boba felt a sense of loyalty to the city.

His lack of loyalty is really the only way to explain the decision to not sit in the far more defensible palace and avoid the collateral damage to the city and its residents. We needed an inner monologue where Boba thinks to himself "if we fight at the palace, it's really going to mess up my sweet digs" before he agrees with the Vespa-kids to stay and fight in the city.

Fennec is terrible at positioning. Sent everyone out and stated no one will get by us. So she had some vespa dorks around a port, a giant wookie by city hall and 2 shirtless pigs hanging around a cliff. and 2 people stayed with the main boss. lol now you have eyes everywhere? She should stick to just being an assassin.

And nothing but a different fighting style comes from his time with the Tusken Raiders? Missed opportunity to bring them into the fight or flesh out that relationship.

best not to think about this one too long.

Thank GOD for that. Mando was a mediocre and this show was absolute trash. Even my 12 yr old son who loves Star Wars was bored and hated it by the end. Sucks to see Cad Bane and Boba wasted on it.
