A good, old fashioned train heist to keep with the western theme.

All I could think when the Hutts showed up was "they don't have nearly enough people holding that, no way it wouldn't fall." Also, what is a Wookie doing working for some Hutts?

Also, not to regurgitate a previous point (too much) but I really don't care for the majordomo speaking "Basic." Could have still been the passive aggressive weasel while speaking twilek, imo.

This episode really is trying to make the Tuskens out to be very sympathetic. Far cry from the type of people who kidnap a woman from her home and tie her up to a tanning rack.

To be fair, in one of the shots, they were definitely struggling with the weight

The weight thing was funny. Wish they would have had subtitles for the Hutts when speaking to each other.

Also likes that he was using th furry geunnia pig as a drying rag.

Tusken raiders are just misunderstood. Anakin just hated sand too much to try and empathize with them. Mando and Boba just are better people. Let's see how Obi treats them.

Maybe the Lars family deserved it.

To be fair, it is difficult to trust someone who is always trying to conceal their numbers

They made a point of distinguishing this tribe from the others. The leader specifically says that the other tribes "kill."

So this is the "Woke" tribe. Will they now start complaining about tattooine climate change? [/aTmAg]

Fantastic to see the Pyke Syndicate again. They are making the rounds - Solo, Clone Wars, etc.

When they give Boba "the gift", the Tusken chieftain says other tribes have survived by violence, but they have gone a different way .What if there is a plot twist, and these Tuskens are the survivors or descendants or neighbors of the tribe that Anakin slaughtered after they kidnapped Shmi? They had violence brought to them so harshly that they abandoned that as their way.

Definitley had the same thought about the litter bearers. They should have put a green car on that thing and made those guys pick it up. The Hutt arrival and the bad-ass Wookiee were both "OH WOW" moments for me, and the Ithorian with the translator was great too.

I initially was thinking "Why don't the Tuskens just move their camp somewhere else?" but then got my comeuppance when Fett talked bout the Dune Sea being their ancestral lands. Just because it looks like a big empty nothing to most doesn't mean it is to them. That was a cool thing.

Train heist had a lot of Solo and a lot of Firefly in it. Always fun to see a train get robbed. That's even a great level on the PC Star Wars Game Jedi Academy.

When the Hutts bring the fight to Tatooine, will Boba fight back with an army of Tuskens? Cuz that would be awesome. Then have some of them get their own Mando/Tusken hybrid armor when he and Din Djarin and Ahoska and Bo Katan team up to take back Mandalore from the Empire.

i am guessing that the writers might have read Dune.

I could also see Bib Fortuna ordering the TR Tribe be killed off in order to save his business deal with the Hutts/Pykes. That could be what makes Boba decide to take over the crime scene on Tatooine and bring order to the planet. Or at a minimum be the reason why he walks away from the tribe because he doesn't want them hunted down because of him (kind of like the end of Dances with Wolves).

That Wookiee was AWESOME... he was like a NFL D-Lineman in comparative size to a TE Chewbacca... that was nuts.

The Hutts showing up was pretty cool.

Also like the Ithorian Mayor and his translator - very neat to see the creatures and aliens playing prominent roles.

I am enjoying this, especially visually, but there is something about it that is giving me pause. I can't quite put my finger on it yet, but I'm not sold yet. The clunky storytelling and jumping timelines is probably a factor in that.

I'm assuming Fortuna just kept the ball rolling and was paying tribute to those Hutts, and the only reason they showed up was because the payments stopped.

The wookie was in the Vader and Doctor Aphra comics of a few years ago.

And you can bet he knows that Boba had several wookie braids as trophies on his armor.

Definitely got an Old West noble "savage" vibe from this episode. The pot shots at the banthas is reminiscent of train passengers shooting buffalo as they traveled west just because they could,

Still, there were some scenes akin to a BBC episode with the blocking and shots that generally detracted from my enjoyment of it.

Holy ***** That episode was great!

Dances with Banthas
Hutts. The sister fanning herself like the queen bee!
Neckbeard Ithorian
Metal AF Wookiee
Tatooine Sons of Anarchy
Peyote Lizard!

**** yes! Loved all of it!

Loved it and love the TR involvement. I 100% feel this ends with Boba using the United TR tribes to oust the Hutts.

Also pretty sure that bike gang and the fight happen at Toshi Station and the couple look like a couple of Luke's friends from the deleted Toshi station scene in ANH.

Pretty cool that Cantina Band was such a hit on Tatooine that Max Rebo Band covered it all those years later.

If I have my math/sources correct, the "present day" story is roughly five years after the "flashbacta" story, correct? Five years between Jedi and The Mandalorian, and then maybe a few weeks since the beginning of The Mandalorian to now? Or has it been longer since the beginning of Mando?
bobinator
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I don't think we know exactly do we? But that's roughly correct as I understand it. Flashback story picked up basically during Jedi, and the current one started during The Mandalorian.
