Are you really quoting the accusers boyfriend?

I'm chronicling the back and forth. Doesn't mean I endorse. Chill.

It might be a good idea to disclose that tidbit in your chronicles, no?

since this is veering off away from Weinstein, maybe get staff to rename this "Hollywood #MeToo" or something like that?

I literally post links to tweets all the time here, most without any kind of commentary. I think it's clear to most people when there's no commentary that it's just a "Here's the latest / You guys might want to see this" kind of thing.

It's been veering away from Weinstein for months now.

"fun fact."

she is the daughter of John Dykstra and dating the voice of Darth Maul.
maybe dad will get an at-at to step on him.

I have nothing to add, other than that I never really liked Hardwick. Never heard him do standup but I found him to be pretty unfunny on Nerdist or when doing an interview. We're hear to listen to the celebrity, not you.

But either way, if he's innocent, I hope the truth comes out. But it sounds like he may just be a bad dude. They come in all shapes and sizes, especially when it comes to dating.

He denied assaulting her. I don't see a denial of trying to blacklist a girlfriend that he says cheated on him. Both the cheating and a blacklist effort would be in the ****ty but not illegal, unexpected, or surprising playbook of "How Some Relationships End" 101.

I don't even know who this guy is, but is him feeling scorned and telling all of his friends in the industry not to hire her really that much different than her feeling scorned and dumping it on social media in a very clear attempt to make sure he is not ever hired again in the industry?

They both had relationship traits the other didn't like. They both felt scorned and lashed out in different methods.

Why is this **** a story and why do people feed into it?
Diggity
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's a pretty important piece of context. On its own, that tweet would look pretty damning.
DannyDuberstein

People feed into it because they are losers that like to feel a little but better about themselves when there is a social media lynching of someone who has been far more successful than they'll ever be.

Damning? In what, the trial to discover whether or not I support/believe (?) Dykstra's boyfriend? What are you even talking about?

Damning against Hardwick

If you say you don't feel like having sex and your boyfriend says "well, you know, that's why I broke up with my last girlfriend" and you CHOSE to go ahead and do it because you would rather not be broken up with, that's manipulative and ****ty, but it's not assault. Had she stood firm and said she didn't want to and he went ahead anyway, that would be assault.

If it truly isn't just "claims" by an ex-girlfriend of a mentally abusive relationship, but rather truly a case of him abusing the power that comes with his job position to harm (i.e. blackball) a former coworker of his (and he essentially made her a co-worker by convincing her to appear in videos and shows of his), and this is being verified by other sources, which supposedly it has been, then yeah of course he's going to start losing his shows. Any one of us would have our job in jeopardy if we did the same thing against a former coworker and our company found out about it.

Now, my statement hinges on the assumption that AMC is doing their due diligence and acting on more than just the Twitter outrage.

I once told a stripper I would only give her twenty dollars if she gave me a lap dance first. I am sorry to have sexually assaulted her, I had no idea. #metoo

I'd say they're both saying the same thing. What she described in her essay isn't sexual assault to anybody who isn't bat **** insane.

honestly, the only thing up for discussion is did he willfully work to blacklist her among the geek entertainment community.

while also not criminal, that action will likely be the "death" of him if actually confirmed by others and not just hearsay.

I noticed that "Talking with Chris Hardwick" did not air on AMC tonight. He was supposed to be talking with Donald Glover.

Whoops.
You mean some women can get angry and psycho and make sh*t like abuse up when they get dumped?
Texts messages show that maybe Chloe Dykstra is trying to destroy Hardwick's career because he dumped her for cheating on him. After the dumping, she begged him to take her back. Then, seven months later, she reached out to him again.

Kinda blows up the whole "I was a sexually abused slave" accusation. I wonder if this will undo the massive damage she did to him and his image?

Yep, that looks like the act of a woman trying to get out of an abusive relationship.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Doesn't negate anything she claimed, IMO. I mean, the obvious cliche of many women who suffer abuse is that they keep coming back, saying "There's still good in him," etc. That's one of the many f*cked up things about abuse. For so many unfortunate women, their self worth is completely wrapped up in the abuser. That's partly why they allow themselves to be abused, because, on some level, they feel that the abuser is right or justified. Doesn't seem any different here.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's not to say Dykstra is innocent in this situation either. I'm just saying, abuse is far more complicated than, "Look! She wanted to get back with him! Guess she was full of sh*t all along!"

Agree completely. So maybe we (society, not us on texags) shouldn't tar and feather everyone and demand their employers fire people when we don't know **** about what we don't know, and only read a bitter 1 side to a story that probably has 8000 layers.

The bully pulpit of social media has gotten out of control and too many weak people at major companies are letting it influence them instead of being responsible and investigating something themselves before bowing to the pressure to act in 4 hours.

That's why I said "maybe."

She could be an abuse victim, she could be Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. Those texts don't help her story.

The point is, Hardwick's career is most likely over but there are serious questions about her story that social media didn't bother to ask before tarring and feathering him.

He's a fake nerd, which always annoyed me. It's likely everything she wrote is tinted to make her seem 100% the victim, but I also find it very likely that this all happened pretty close to how it was written.

I haven't read much into this.. But if he left her a bunch of rabid voicemails, where are they? Maybe they are out there already, I don't know. But if not, then it's fishy if she had deleted them all.

I don't save any voicemails and i have had some crazy ones in the past that I didn't keep. I didn't want them where I could keep reliving them.

I imagine that you would if "over the years" you had "attempted to write [an expose], quite literally, 17 times."

Mansplain her why she is wrong.
