And just looked up their ages. If anything did happen when she was fourteen, Baio would've been 26.
And this seems crazy given today's climate, but that would have been considered inappropriate back then, but not anything like it is today. As it is, he was 29 when she was 17 and I don't think he denies that he was dating her when she was 17 years old.
That's my problem with bringing up a lot of this stuff that happened twenty plus years ago, it was a totally different world back then. We had 21+ year olds dating girls in 8th grade when I was growing up, and while everyone thought it was king of weird, nobody really made a big deal about it.

That's a good point. Kind of crazy how this whole thing has skipped right over hip hop culture. I know they're just songs, but there's got to be some truth/action behind a lot of those lyrics.

We have a president who advocates sexual assault on video, pays off porn stars he banged while married, and has been accused of multiple sexual assaults and you post that some random song is an example of what is wrong with culture/society just minutes after you suggest in a previous post that twentysomethings banging middle school girls is not a big deal. Fair enough about Trump. But my point was that dude said mid 20s banging middle school was fine and then complained about popular music. You can always find explicit music that will be shockingly offensive in all genres, from tip hop to top 40 to fm rock to heavy metal to popular country.

You ever talk about slavery? You ever heard anybody says anything about evaluating people's actions based on the context of the time? Are you able to understand that yes, slavery is wrong and is a big deal, but also understand that if you were alive two hundred years ago you might not think the same way?
Can you understand that when somebody says "to own a slave back then was not considered a big deal" that they are not saying slavery is no big deal? Or is all this too abstract for you?
Do you know the definition of "was" and "is" and understand those are very different words?

I saw Ed Asner on MSNBC not too long ago. The anchor lady asked him about Hollywood sexual harassment/assaults, and he said it all started with Donald Trump, and when you elect a guy like Donald Trump as president this stuff is going to happen.Quote:

As the anchor wrapped up the interview, Asner asked her for a kiss. She said no, and he reiterated that he was disappointed he didn't get a kiss from her at the start of the interview.

Kind of a scary post-show history for some of the Glee cast.
So I was in middle school from 85-88 and HS form 88-92 and in no way, shape, or form was it acceptable to 21+ year old guys to date middle school girls. And the only high school girls I can recall having boy friends out of high school were in cases where the boyfriend was older and graduated and moved on.
Geez, we even had a major incident when I was a freshman, where some senior guys allegedly had a pool for who would be first to sleep with a classmate of mine. Her dad somehow caught wind of it and proceeded to walk in to the locker room at the start of football practice and inform the team that slow death would be the result of anyone touching his daughter. Later that year the school board voted to move freshman in to the middle school as the age gap between freshman and seniors was deemed to wide.
Maybe I just lived around a bunch of prudes but grown men dating middle school aged kids would have been grounds for a jail cell if not vigilante justice.

I admit I am not well-informed on the Woody Allen story. I've only ever just heard about it, and I always just assumed he was guilty. I'm going to check out the full interview to see if I feel differently afterward.

that's always a red flag when they can't just answer it simply. And that's such a common deflection to avoid answering a question. Pose the scenario and ask the asker if it even makes sense.
Allen is trash due to what he did with Soon-Yi alone. And it's been well known for over 20 years. Yet the entire industry looked the other way until it was fashionable not to.
