Mad Men is my all-time favorite show, but this guy has always had a reputation as a bit of an assh*le. He has a wife and three kids, but also gives off a somewhat feminine vibe, so if anything I thought he was a closet homosexual. But I guess not. In other words, I'm a bit surprised, but not really.

Ha, great catch. Even his kids are weird, as evident of Weiner casting his oldest as Glen, the weirdest kid ever. I was once in a movie theater with Weiner and his three sons and his youngest had on a tux. In the middle of summer on a Saturday afternoon. I later read that the kid just loves to dress up, so they let him wear suits and tux's all the time. To each his own, and I don't mean to make fun of a little kid (even though this was years ago), but something is definitely a little off about Weiner and his family.

I mean, there was a clip of Barbara Walters on The View kind of chiding Feldman saying "You're damaging an entire industry!" and I've got to think that all the honest people in industry must be particularly angry because of the lasting damage, resentment and suspicion they will be faced with going forward.
It's not a great analogy, but college baseball has a bad reputation for ruining young pitcher's arms so when any coach overpitches a kid, I get super mad because they are confirming all the bad things everyone thought. They aren't just hurting that one kid, they are hurting the sport itself.
I don't see it as damaging the industry at all. I mean, it is, obviously, but I see it as more of a cleansing, which is what this town needs more than anything. I absolutely love that these assh*les are finally getting their comeuppance. It's so incredibly satisfying. I hate that it had to be at the expense of all these women (and men) and their terrible experiences, but Hollywood - and hopefully humanity in general - will be better for having gone through this whole ordeal in the end. I feel like there's now a level of awareness and solidarity like never before. This really is a massive cultural sea change. Besides, the negative opinions so many people already had of Hollywood couldn't have gotten much worse.
I totally agree with this. I hate that any woman or man was treated these ways, but I feel like we're finally saying as a whole big group that these actions are not okay and will no longer be tolerated.

Freeman was actually subject to some kind of accusation around the time of The Dark Knight. Had to do with his daughter or step daughter or something. It wasn't sexual assault, but it was definitely questionable or inappropriate. Will look it up in a bit.
