In the letter, the women slammed Franken's behavior toward Leeann Tweeden who accused the lawmaker of forcibly kissing and groping her more than a decade ago as "stupid and foolish" but wrote that "not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior" from the former SNL cast member.
"We feel compelled to stand up for Al Franken, whom we have all had the pleasure of working with over the years on Saturday Night Live (SNL). What Al did was stupid and foolish, and we think it was appropriate for him to apologize to Ms. Tweeden, and to the public," the women wrote. "In our experience, we know Al as a devoted and dedicated family man, a wonderful comedic performer, and an honorable public servant."
"That is why we are moved to quickly and directly affirm that after years of working with him, we would like to acknowledge that not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard,
I get where you're coming from, but I'd wager that most animators (and i know a fair number of guys at Disney and Pixar as well as other places) really aren't like that at all. The folks doing it at a high level are much more into the performance, staging, story, and artform than the "Disney" angle.TCTTS said:
Truthfully, some of these older dudes who are still obsessed with cartoons to this degree have always kind of creeped me out. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy certain Pixar movies, and I don't mean to stereotype, I'm just saying that there's a certain breed of grown-ass adult male who's just a little too much into animation, Walt Disney World, magic, etc to an uncomfortable degree, so much so that this news doesn't really surprise me.
Agreed. I tried to make it clear that I was talking about a very specific type. I know tons of animators as well and none of them are even remotely like the Lasseter types. Just talking about the ones like him who have model trains running all through their house, wear Hawaiian shirts every day, seem a little too "jolly" in a creepy kind of way, etc...fig96 said:I get where you're coming from, but I'd wager that most animators (and i know a fair number of guys at Disney and Pixar as well as other places) really aren't like that at all. We should start a betting pool on who will be the next accused, or something along those lines. My money is on Jonah Hill or Seth Rogen. Both of those betas seem like just the type.

Never heard of Russel Simmons? Ratner's been a notorious scumbag producer for years and years, but I can understand not knowing his name. Simmons, though, is fairly famous.
