This did not age well.

So now that he got canned can TCTTS enlighten us?

My staying out of it up until now was mainly due to the fact that two of my best friends and business partners had a project with Harvey until about a week ago. In fact, they had written Harvey's passion project, after many rewrites it was completed week before last, and Harvey was finally ready to pull the trigger, again calling it one of the best scripts he's ever read. Then, literally the next day this news first broke and the whole thing came crashing down (again).

Some of you may remember my story about us running into Harvey at Sundance. The project I hinted at in that post ended up being one I posted about later when it was publicly announced as a TV show last year. Well, Harvey botched the sale of that show pretty badly, it was basically dead, and then my buddies gave it one last shot and revitalized it as a movie earlier this year, which, ironically was what Harvey envisioned it as all along. He had tried to make a movie out of it for 15 years, but my friends convinced him to give it a go as a TV show instead. When that failed (again, due to some serious ball-dropping on Harvey's part), they finally cracked it as a movie, and Harvey was so stoked with the final script that it was about to go out to directors literally last week. It was to be his next big Oscar movie, and the company as a whole was super excited for it.

Now, no one knows what's going to happen with it, and I really can't say much more than that. All I know is that it's now up to the lawyers to figure out what the hell's going to happen with the script. My gut says it's dead, but we'll see. There's a lot more going on behind the scenes, I just hope you guys understand why I can't give any more detail at the moment.

And to clear:

- This project has nothing to do with O&C. This was a script that two of my partners have been working on since before we formed the company.

- We all obviously knew of Harvey's reputation and turned a blind eye, but to us, it was mostly legend and conjecture up to that point. He treated my partners with nothing but respect and praise. However, now having read the details of his behavior, the things he's done can't be ignored. Legally, what happens with the script from this point on is beyond my business partners' control, but their relationship with Harvey himself is most definitely over.

So he never penned you into a restaurant vestibule and jerked off into a potted plant for you? That's disappointing.

The rest of your story is stolen from Entourage.

Damon and Crowe allegedly helped kill an expose on HW 13 years ago.

This should effectively end their careers if true.

Here's the original story with a little more detail:

https://www.thewrap.com/media-enablers-harvey-weinstein-new-york-times/

The reporter states that Damon and Crowe contacted her directly to vouch for the Italian man who's job she had determined through her reporting was to set Harvey up with Russian escorts. While that still looks bad with what we know today, there's no indication that they knew what the Italian was up to or ever vouched for any of the other despicable things that Harvey is being accused of. For all we know they were just doing a favor for somebody who helped them significantly with their careers.

The entity that looks the worst in that story is the NYT. The reporter states that Harvey was a big buyer of ads in the paper and visited the newsroom in an effort to kill her story. The story was cut down after that and buried in back pages of the paper.
That's what I got out of that article as well. They were trying to bury a story about an Italian guy who got hookers for Harvey. Seriously, who cares that he likes Russian escorts?

That story and the stories coming out now are apples and oranges, IMO.

Is it bad that this doesn't even surprise me? I almost just kind of assume that many Hollywood producer types are like this to an extent.
im just wondering what harvey did to tip the scales. when i was in school and we played Texas in basketball in '07, i went out for drinks afterwards with a UT student whose roommate was interning at some small studio in hollywood. We talked for hours about showbiz and the main 3 things i remember from that conversation: 1. Alot of A list male actors are closet homosexuals 2. Alot of actresses that werent born into the industry came up through prostitution. 3. The Producers took advantage of this and created the proverbial "casting couch".

dude, i only mentioned those two cause i thought the cat was already out of the bag with them. Do you expect me to go down the list? I withheld most of what i heard because its hearsay.

Have you ever met kevin spacey, cause apparently anybody who talks to him for more than 2 minutes can tell he is queer as a 3 dollar bill. And yes chili, clooney was one of the people i heard about. Keep in mind this was all 10 years ago before this was common knowledge so what ive posted at this point shouldnt be earthshattering

Maybe there wasn't an update to that article when you read it before. Here it is

"Update: On Monday, the Times' Executive Editor Dean Baquet replied to Sharon Waxman's claim that the paper had "gutted" her 2004 report on Harvey Weinstein, denying that the paper would have declined to print a negative story simply because Weinstein was an advertiser. Instead, Baquet suggests, Waxman's own description of her report reveals it consisted largely of "an off-the-record account from one woman." You can read his full statement below:"

Kevin Spacey took a male date to the Emmys this year. They sat together in the front row. He's never officially come out, but it's no secret - and he makes no effort to hide - the fact that he's gay. Travolta, of course, is as well, though he fails terribly at keeping up the charade. The only other "little known" fact I can think of along those lines is that James Franco is bi. Clooney, however, most definitely is not gay and never has been. Same goes for Cruise or Will Smith. Those guys are all straight as an arrow. I'm sure there are a couple others who might hide it, I'm just saying it's ridiculous to claim that "A lot of A-list male are actors closet homosexuals." That's just not even remotely true. Same goes for the prostitution thing. Again, that all reads like something my grandma would forward me between Pizzagate and "Trump removed all of Obama's prayer rugs from the White House" emails.

Spacey is gay? Who would have thought that a 60-year old man who has won awards for his work on Broadway, has never been married and when he takes a female to public events, it is a colleague such as a script editor is gay. Shocking.
