Was thinking of trying to see this in IMAX opening weekend. Any ideas when tickets typically go up for pre-sale and how difficult it will be to get tickets for like a Sat afternoon show? Never really been inclined to fight crowds for a movie, but this one has me intrigued enough to want to be there.

Tickets on sale 11 am central tomorrow!! Tuesday May 2
Regal Movies has them on sale now for Thursday, 5/26 showings.

Where? I get an error on my app for every theater.
I was looking at their website to make sure my logins and passwords were all updated to order tickets tomorrow. It looks like they've added everything prematurely.

Are you referring to Gaga as a one hit wonder?
No the original Berlin song. I think they have another decent song, but I can't think of it.

(BTW, me calling the song a one hit wonder is not bashing the song... it was one of the best songs of the 80s in my opinion. That's why I think Gaga has a high bar to beat. Career wise, Gaga easily surpasses Berlin)

Interesting tidbit I only recently learned... Berlin was from Los Angeles. The band purposely chose the name because they wanted to give the impression of being European.

Well it worked. I thought they were European the whole time.

I don't know what's weirder, that or the fact that Scorpions are NOT American.

Oh, and the "other" Berlin song was/is "The Metro". Which obviously gave off a very European vibe.

Great song, also very Euro-y

That song was definitely huge for the original movie and holds up well almost 40 years later. That whole soundtrack rocked.

Between Top Gun, Rocky IV, & Karate Kid I had a good solid 2 hours of cool music for any road trip to the Grandparents... assuming the batteries in my walkman would last!

Were any members from Europe? I get "copying the Euro electronic sound" but she sounds like she has an accent.

This is blowing my damn mind

I enjoy The Interrupters cover of The Metro

I know "Danger Zone" is in the movie. Might be a slightly updated version, but Loggins was involved to an extent (though I think he was set to contribute more music that was ultimately scrapped at some point). I don't know *how* Danger Zone is used, but I saw a suggestion on Twitter that it be used like the Rocky theme in the third of act of Creed. Where they hold it back and then use it as the perfect needle drop at the climax of the action. Something along those lines. If so, the audience will absolutely lose their minds.

As for Gaga, I know the song evolved, to the point where she surprised certain higher ups with a whole new rendition (of the same song) pretty late in the game. So she worked on it for a while, and it was definitely a passion project for her. I'm pretty sure Kosinski, who directed the movie, even directed the music video as well (which we'll be seeing tomorrow). They're really going all out with this stuff.

They pan down in an experimental SpaceX rocketfighter's cockpit from the HUD to the radar. Maverick is surrounded on all sides by enemies. The enemies are getting closer and the tense orchestral score stops.

Pan down to the throttle. Above the 100% notch is a striped caution area labeled "DANGER ZONE" and you see Maverick's gloved hand shove the throttle into it.

Loggins blasts from the speakers and the airspaceshipcraft tears through the sky. All the bad guys blow up and Goose's force ghost smiles from the sky.

Thanks for the info... after my post above I loaded the TG soundtrack and have been listening while I work. I actually sat here wondering if they would re-use any of the original songs.

Danger Zone seems like a no-brainer. Really interested to hear Gaga's new song/take. And we all know there is a beach scene in the movie... I wouldn't hate it at all if for a brief second a car drove by and you could slightly hear Playing with the Boys from the radio!

Rudolf Schenker. Guitar; Klaus Meine, lead vocals, etc.

And if you listen closely, especially Wind of Change, it's obvious they ain't from 'round here.

This. I always assumed they were Euros due to Winds of Change (great jam, btw)

Not bad. I kinda like it. Feels like a song I would've nervously asked a girl to dance to at an eight grade dance in the gym.

It's not bad, it's just *very much* a ballad, when I was hoping/expecting something a bit more pop-ish, I guess. IMO, it's just not very catchy or memorable, that's all.

Take My Breath Away is smooth and seductive, Hold My Hand does feel like an awkward junior high dance/make out song

BTW, my first junior high slow dance was to Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You)

Agreed, not bad but completely forgettable the second it's over.

Soundtracks use to define movies back in the day... a good one in the 80s would be responsible for 2-3 huge hits that would play every couple hours on the FM radio. Top Gun was certainly one of those soundtracks... Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Rocky IV and the list goes on. And getting to watch movie clips when those songs came on MTV was just the best!

In middle school every crush I had was the apex of romance and desire as if my whole life I was searching for that one person and finally found them. Hormones are some wild ****

Every time I see an update on this thread, I am afraid to open it. This movie has 'friend-zoned' us so many times that I struggle to believe that we'll ever get together.
