I think it will be beneficial to have an official photo thread that people can upload the latest photos that they take.

Taken 6/24/11

Today I noticed that they used lime green paint to mark spots that will be torn down. (the foul line walls and the dugouts.)



I didn't take any other pictures because there was too much construction going on to get a good picture. They were working on digging out the dirt where the new slab of the building will be.

It might be a while before we ever see a legit triple at Olsen if that's what they're cutting out of the foul territory...

...and by legit triple I mean one that doesn't include the fielder doing something dumb like diving for a ball he should sit back on.

Deep corners were the key.

the grass may be cut back that much but alteast another 6 feet of dirt I bet.

If you go out there you can tell it was cut that much to fit machinery to get rid of debris.

NCAA has a minimum width for warning track space. What you see in the above pictures is less than minimum.

They are cutting out an awfully lot of foul territory. I hate that too because they are eliminating close plays/excitement. You would think that a head coach with a pitching background would not want to make his park less pitcher friendly.

So unless you're a high paying donor or a coach or player, you're not getting any closer to the action. The people on the berms might have some of the best seats in the house.

They're weren't too many foul ball outs as it was. There will definitely be less triples. The outfield line wall will be closer and cause balls to bounce off the walls sooner rather than outfielders waiting for it to carom off or get lost in the corner as in the past
