Would love to see him help Reed and others reach their maximum potential.

"Put my locker next to young guys who I can help," I said. "Get me around the kids the players who I can have an impact on. In spring training, during drills, whenever you can. Give me the opportunity to help all the young players get better."
He promised me he'd do that, and I couldn't be happier about it.

I feel like he'll be even more excited if I can hit a bunch of bombs this year and help get Houston back to the World Series. I know full well that, more than anything else, this team will be relying on me to produce. At the end of the day, it's all about winning baseball games and doing everything I can on the diamond to help bring Astros fans their first world championship.
It's a good thing Biggio is already in the HOF as I can't imagine how many voters would drop him for this suspicious comment:aggie1906 said:

Alright I guess I can stop booing Carlos now. Anyone who thinks that highly of Bidge can't be that bad.

That's awesome.Quote:
At first the three of us were just sitting at the table making small talk, but then, all of a sudden, Jos turns to me with this really serious look and starts talking baseball. It was like he couldn't take it anymore. He had something he needed to bring up.
"Carlos," he said, "I need to get better."
At first, I just kind of looked at him.
I mean, this is a guy who has been one of the most consistent players in the big leagues pretty much from the day he got called up. Last year he hit .338.

I'm assuming that's Kyle, not preston?

Seems like a good package for an Ehh pitcher overall. Had a pretty good year this year but overall nothing special in my opinion
He's 27 (about to be 28) so he's still in the prime of his career and should be for another 4-5 years.Mr.Bond said:

Wandy's career WAR is 13.1 over 11 years. Quintana's WAR is 20.8 over 5 years.astros4545 said:Mr.Bond said:

When I think I Quintana, I think Wandy Rodriguez
We should not be giving up that type of package for Wandy

He's been in the show for 5 years. His ERA each year has been 3.76, 3.51, 3.32, 3.36, and 3.20. So his worst year is 3.76 as a rookie and he's still getting better each year.
Is he elite? No, but I bet you can't name 15 better starters than him.
Plus he's cheap and under contract for 4 more years.
Nope, replaced with Charlie Mortontitanmaster_race said:
is Fister still with the team? can't remember how long his contract was
Its not a fair trade unless it hurts on both sides. This one hurts, but it could be the piece that puts us over the top in the AL West and gives us so much more hope come playoff time.shano0603 said:aggie1906 said:He's 27 (about to be 28) so he's still in the prime of his career and should be for another 4-5 years.Mr.Bond said:

I don't like the price. But I would Absolutely do this trade. This team is close. A guy who is absolutely an ace.
Unless keuchel bonces back big... He would be our ace.iBrad said:
The issue from the White Sox's side is that they've already acquired five pitchers in the two trades they've made. Do they really want to add seven pitching prospects this offseason? They likely have their sites set on Bregman still, so I seriously doubt a deal gets done.
And to be honest, three top five prospects for a that's really a number two starter is a hefty price.
We're splitting hairs here. He's a top 25 pitcher hands down, probably 15-20 range. 2015 Dallas is better. 2016 Dallas is worse. I would say full season Lance might be the best of them all. Its not crazy to say he'd be our ace.shano0603 said:Unless keuchel bonces back big... He would be our ace.iBrad said:
