The tighter the strike zone, the more important "movement" and swings and misses will become. You are right, Keuchel and other picthers who live on the edge will suffer.Nuke LaLoosh said:
Seeing as how we are an offensively based team, this rule could only stand to help us. Poor keuchel though.

I highly doubt that MLB umpires can consistently make calls with a precision of 2 inches
I'm sure Amando Gallaraga agrees.Duck Patrol said:
I like the human error part of the game. Frustrating, but it's traditional.
Nice straw man!shano0603 said:
Why don't we just play video games instead of having players? We can have robots that We control.

I don't understand why anyone would want human error.

Let's just let the catchers call it. They have a better view than the ump.

Tennis, Football, Basketball, all games right? Computers let you know if it's in or out. We have goal line cameras to see if it crosses the line. Replay is reviewed in great detail to see if shots got off before the buzzer.
Saying baseball is a game so let's ignore technology is silly.

I'm not anti-strike zone technology, but they've got to overcome the obstacle that is the strike zone changing for every hitter while the technology we have for those other sports measure a constant, unchanging line. The technology out there now for balls and strikes isn't good enough yet, for me, at least.

Man, I saw there was a bunch of replies to this thread today and thought maybe something important happened like a big trade, signing or McCullers saw a witch doctor to make him not get repearedly injured... nope, a bunch of guys arguing about human error

Cuban left-hander Osvaldo Hernandez has been declared a free agent and can now sign with any team, MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reports (via Twitter). Several teams are already interested in the 18-year-old southpaw, including the Astros, Braves, Mets, Padres, Rangers, Reds and Red Sox.
