Sucks that Bregman finally got to play, goes 2-for-3 with a walk, and is back on the bench tonight.
But I'm sure many on here would prefer Leyland to Hinch.

Crawford has been hitting too. And is probably better defensively.

I don't mind Crawford playing. My infield tonight would have been Bregman, Crawford, Kinsler, and Hosmer.

I would take Donaldson or Machado at 14-1 before I'd take those bets. (but i think they all have good seasons)

Cautiously excited (if that's a thing). Morton has said he's even worried his velocity will be down later in the season. I'll be happy if he helps us get out of the gate better than last year.

Was at game yesterday. Charlie looked very pedestrian in warm ups but upped it a couple of notches when the game started. Sat behind the plate--His off speed was giving the nationals fits. Ran his fastball up there in the mid 90's on several occasions. He had very good command.

How has keuchels velocity looked so far? Last year at this point we were worried that it was down a couple mph from his current young season...

Was that his Sinker? IIRC, that only hit about 89-90 at the most

I would be shocked if he threw a pitch at 90 mph in that start

Why do Ranger dbags defend rat faced under any circumstance? They are mad about bregmans comments.

Cant wait to smash these idiots.

If keuchels velocity is still down... that's a pretty bad sign IMO.

Rangers article knocks Bregman, a guy with 200ish at bats, telling Odor, a veteran, how to play the game. I think it makes Odor look worse that an almost rookie has to call out a "veteran" on how to play baseball with respect.

Mark my words, by the time Odor finishes his career he will be looked back upon as a guy that did more harm to the game than good.
astros4545

Or he will be looked at as a sex offender

I'm not sure how you can defend a guy that bat flipped an almost HR and nearly cost his team a win, especially given that he's the guy who punched Batista in the face because of a bat flip. I think it's merely a case of blind loyalty to whomever wears the Rangers uniform.

Absolutely.

Just like all the Rangers fans that now realize that Ian Kinsler was a ******r.

I wish I could put money on who finishes their career with more WAR barring injury. Bregman may double up Odor on that stat.

It was stupid. S*** happens. And you're right, he punched Bautista about a bat flip. It had nothing to do with the retaliation take out slide.

To be fair...we had the likes of Carlos Gomez on our roster. Though Id hope nobody tried defending him....

How many MLB players punch other players after a take out slide?

Wait, so Mr. Batflip (who most Astros fans actually dislike due to a couple cheap takeout slides of Astro MI, that's also praised by our resident Ranger hypocrites) isn't just upset about his team being on the losing end of a batflip, but also because, get this, someone did a takeout slide.

And ranger fans wonder why they're compared to sip fans.

Another great play by Correa at 3B. Still think the Astros would be a better team with Bregman at short, and Correa 3rd. Correa would never agree to it though.

What is the issue with Bregman at 3rd and Correa at SS?

I'm not worried, but I am raising an eyebrow at Altuve's spring numbers. He didn't exactly light up the WBC, either. I hope he gets it going here over the next week or two.

Correa is a very good defensive 3B but an average SS. Bregman is about the same at either position.

Like I've said in this thread before... Hinch loves the analytics and playing shifts. I'd have them switch between the two depending on what shift we are doing and where they would be better served. Correa's length vs Bregman's speed.

Not only no, but hell no. I think Correa makes for a better 3B with Bergman at SS.... but just no on switching back and forth. That's just flat ignoring the human element of the game and muscle memory theory. You have to balance both sides to be successful.
