McCann isn't worth multiple top young players, even absorbing $17M of what he's owed. I don't blame the Yankees for trying, but I'd move on from that until the price comes down. He's not the perennial all-star catcher that the Yankees paid for and didn't get.
The Rangers gave up two top five prospects and a top 20 for LuCroy, but got a better hitter and a reliever. So, maybe the Yankees could throw in a guy like Tommy Layne, too. We need another lefty in the pen and he's under team control for four more years. Over his career, he's held lefties to a .177 average. Add him to the deal and their ask isn't looking as bad.

Can't imagine they wanted to spend that much for a SS that would have to convert to OF not knowing how well of an OFer he is. The info we've gotten so far tells us were in the market for high level proven MLB player.

I'm starting to think that maybe Altuve has a shot at MVP after all. Semi-surprised to see him in the top 3 after his month of September. Maybe the writers won't hold it against him. He was the best player in the league in May, June, July, and August
