Quit trying to make them feel better Ulrich. Gasol was the perfect fit. A much better fit then even Carmelo.

Looks like Miami is offering Bosh the max to stay which is $119M over 5 years compared to the 4/$88 reported that Houston is offering.

Now the question is, does he want to be a 7/8 seed for the next 5 years or compete for championships

Compete for championships? I thought he was signing with a team coached by Kevin McHale

Bosh was a perfect fit, but their roster was going to be trash after Parsons and they were going to be in cap hell for a couple years. It was a power play that might have paid off for a title, but they were in deep trouble after next year. They probably aren't in the discussion this year, but I won't count them completely out and their chances in 2016 and 2017 just went way up.

GS - No need to pile on. You're better than that. Besides, my guess is that if Houston had Bosh their odds to win the West would be right behind SA's.

Is Gasol an option for Houston? Would make sense to sign him and a few other pieces, then match on Parsons

Depends on the depth given up.

If Parson's contract was only two years (no option), I'd be very tempted to pick it up if I'm the Rockets. That third year makes it a very tough call.

I'd personally rather have Parsons than non-team-player Anthony. Not that we have Parsons yet.

Parsons can defend when not ball watching. And he gives us continuity. We still have cap flexibility and a draft pick from New Orleans that could be valuable.

GS, I believe so. New Orleans is getting Alonzo Gee's non-guaranteed deal that they'll waive and give them room for Asik.

as weak as the East is, Bosh might still be playing in some Eastern Conference finals.

Rockets fans post stuff like this, then can't take it when their franchise inevitably fails:

quote:
Morey does it again. Dude is a witch. He turned this crap roster into a starting 5 of Dwight Bosh Harden Parsons and Bev. Amazing.

quote:
All of that will get done quite easily.

quote:
Bosh is coming to Houston if the room is cleared. Period. They will retain Parsons now. Les will pay

You have 20 pages of the same rhetoric, all of which looks like it'll he dead ass wrong.

Apparently the home team using birds rights to be able to pay the most for unrestricted free agents actually works. Someone might want to get this info to Morey.

Rockets should have kept parsons under his rookie contract and just gone hard after a few specific more attainable players like Lowry, McRoberts and Gasol. Instead of taking the high percentage play Morey went for the homer and struck out.

Morey is a good GM but there is a very real chance Houston goes into next year a worse team.

I like Deng better on a team with 25 and 18 point scorers already on the team. Deng's percentages are off the last couple years, but he was a 34.5% and 36.7% three point shooter with a ton of attempts for a couple years before that. It's not like he can't shoot, he's just been playing for the Roseless Bulls and Cleveland. He's also a 16 or 17 ppg scorer most years, which is about the same as Parsons. Age and some potential is about all you give up.

Spurs and Dallas used to have a really great rivalry back in the early to mid 2000's, highlighted by the 2006 playoffs. Lately, it's been kind of lackluster, minus this past playoffs. I think Cuban is a dick, but I've been growing to respect the Mavs rather than hate them. I used to be ambivalent about the Rockets, and even pulled for them when van Gundy was coaching (unless it was against the Spurs). Because of the trash talked by Rockets fans all regular season and playoffs this past year on this board, I'm starting to hate the Rockets. No offense.

I like Deng. I would be happy if we got him. But I'd prefer to use our cap room to get decent role players and keep our core together. Enough with the turnover.

Spurs are too boring so I follow Morey.

Oh wow, pop signed and drafted a guy I've never heard of and doesn't play him for two years. Wonderful.

We just traded away Lin and Asik. We have room.

Minus Lin
Minus Askin

Plus Troy Daniels full time
Plus Nick Johnson

1.) Because Houston is at the center of Free Agency and we are all NBA fans here.

2.) Rockets fans are always peacocking about their team even though it never wins anything.

It's hilarious.

Maybe I'm not understanding. If we match Parsons we have hardly any cap room. He harden and Howard take up what? 50+ million of the cap?

Edit yes we only have 36 hours. After that we have ZERO room

We just have bad luck with sports in Houston. Who would have thought Miami would offer $118 million to Bosh? Another heart-breaker.

Meanwhile Cleveland has had a great run the last couple months.
