Look I get what you guys are saying, I just disagree. Not with your logic itself, but the statements themselves. I just think this whole video game mindset that we've got right now where you just sign Melo or Bosh is going to work, ESPECIALLY if we sign Melo. Now if we get Lebron, everything I've said is pointless. But Morey needs to continue to develop his own talent with second rounders.

Really hope we pick up Patric Young here at 42.

Who says Capella can't develop while continuing to play in Europe? And we don't have to use salary cap space in order for him to do that.

Just because we got Parsons in the 2nd doesn't mean we can just get good players whenever in the 2nd. It's is very rare to get a contributor in the 2nd round.

Morey is good at second rounders. This is another good one. I would've loved to get Patric Young, but it looks like a lot of teams are passing on him. Strange.

This is kinda a problem I have too. College basketball is borderline unwatchable now with all the fouls, poor shooting, and completely raw talent. I haven't heard of a lot of these guys like I had back when the Ags were good.

Summary:

- Capela is a few years away but they felt like he had the most upside of anyone out of the top guys in the draft
- They expect Johnson to contribute this year with his athleticism and defense. Sounds like he'll be a high-energy Beverly type off the bench
- the Italian might lack elite athleticism but it sounds like he can score in numerous ways and has a nice 3 point shot. Morey expects him to compete for a spot in the rotation next year

Morey is one of the best in the league with 2nd roudners/undrafted guys. I find myself getting more excited about those than our 1st rounders every year.

I don't know anything about the owner but the repeater tax isn't anything to joke about and is going to stop a fair bit of teams from going over the tax threshold.

Rockets made $40mm in profit last year. That is with 63mm worth of salaries.

Let's say Houston does 83mm worth of salary (10mm over luxury tax line)

$20mm of that profit is out due to the salary. Plus another $16.25mm of taxes. So Houston is at 3.75mm of profit. Only they got $3mm of luxury tax payments. So they are right on the border of red.
