If the Rockets had Harden and Howard and no Parsons and their first move had been to bring Deng aboard, you guys would have been over the moon and predicting a title for him just like you were about adding Howard to Harden and Parsons last year. Deng is at least as good as Parsons, you're just bent out of shape because your first choice fell through.
I think Ryan is on the right track. The Rockets need to get their team together and get some continuity going. That was never going to happen with Bosh, Parsons, and trash, but it can with Deng and a set of nice role players. Houston is not trying to get out of the lottery here, they just need to add a little more defense and build on their year to year improvement and keep developing those young guys.

I said I liked them, not that I bet on them to win a title. It was an easy team to root for. Harden and Howard, not so much.

If rockets offer Bledsoe they wouldn't get an answer before parsons clock expires. Bledsoe is RFA.

Gotta match Parsons IMO. Deng and Ariza are going to be overpriced anyways. Matching Parsons lets you get another good player as well, if they can get a deal done fast.

Need to put some moves together to bolster the bench, add some decent shooters, and match Parsons. This is the same team that won 50+ games and had only had one year to mesh together. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. Wait and see how this plays out first. Would we have been better with Bosh? Yes. Would we have overpaid? Hell yes.

It's amazing that we are this far into the age of the Internet and people still don't realize that the ads you see are based on your own internet history.
Today is a big day for the Rockets. They need to add someone before Chandler's deadline tomorrow. Then actually develop some talent internally instead of constantly switching out important pieces via trades and free agency.
Lance Stephenson and Pat Beverley on the same defense would be entertaining.

Stephenson turned down 5 years $44M. The chances that he'd accept what we could offer for a guy coming off the bench are small. But, aside from being nuts, he'd be a good fit for what need defensively and for our offense.
I don't see houston having the locker room culture to be able to reign in Stephenson. They are very young, and I'm not sold on the leadership of Howard and harden. Howard is a delicate personality himself who can go off at any moment, not wise to add another personality like that IMO. I think that would be a bad fit.
Yeah, you don't want Stephenson on a young team of guys that aren't married and are going out to strip clubs all the time.
Unless you want full out crazy. Then see if Vernon Maxwell wants to be an assistant and see if Stephen Jackson wants to come play near the golden triangle.

I don't think the Rockets would be interested. But he'd fit pretty well into Lin's old spot: guy who pushes the ball in transition, except he can also play defense. And he and Bev together would make a nice combo defensively. The issues with his personality and expectations likely rule him out though.
