I haven't read all the reports but based on the few I looked at the reporter is in error. For example, Rhynes was shot in the neck and abdomen, not with two head shots.

That's supposedly a major cause of death of bullfighters -- the bull's horns slice the artery and the bullfighter bleeds out very quickly.

I suspect it's probably not as big a problem with modern medicine as it used to be.

Charges were filed within hours or days. But, apparently, no cases have gone before the grand jury for indictment.

Gunshot injuries to the brachial (arm/biceps) or femoral (thigh) arteries can kill pretty quickly.

This is a little off the current dialogue but I thought some may find it interesting. I haven't followed this story much, but had a chance to chat with a good friend mine that is a U.S. attorney in TX the other night.

He said this is one of the most botched cases he has ever seen and that it just gets worse the more you find out. The Waco folks tried to get the Feds to get involved and after a cursory look, they not only said no, but F no.

He bled out. EMS did not go in and start Triaging, until scene was determined safe. Agreed it was probably severed femoral artery.

Over 150 days since the shooting.

The second grand jury has been empaneled.

Not a single person of the ~180 arrestees has been charged with a crime.

Meanwhile, a Baylor football player violently raped another student athlete and he wasn't even arrested until after he was convicted in August.
